  1. That was fun, I thought Jason Narducy overall did a really nice job. The questions from the audience were predictably awful though. Why not ask about his songs or something instead of garbage like if rainbows are real? Let’s go rain is really growing on me.
  2. Well that's kind of a bummer. Hopefully the Chicago crowd will ask better questions! I was a little bummed that Jason Narducy was announced as the moderator instead of someone more famous (like Jon Hamm!) but i'm really hoping that as a fellow musician, the topics of conversation will slant towards songwriting, etc.
  3. I have a work conference the date of the Milwaukee show
  4. got singles for both of the shows in the mid-priced range. A little bummed it's not with CH or POTR, but I can't complain too much about seeing Neil this summer!
  5. Pieholden Suite. It is the one song that I want to hear at every show, but they basically never play it! If I ever lined up early enough for the Tweedy acoustic benefits, I would request it every year. I've been fortunate enough to catch 2 Wilco versions and 1 Tweedy solo in my 50+ combined shows, but damnit it is not enough.
  6. Interesting. I’ve been going to these shows since 2007 and while I love that we get the deep cuts, Golden Smog, Loose Fur and Uncle Tupelo songs, I can appreciate Jeff maybe wanting to switch to a less *ahem* taxing format for him!
  7. very excited that Jeff has been on the road this month, should hopefully do away with the occasional "rust" we get at these shows!
  8. very cool, hopefully I can tune in for a bit. I wonder if the outtakes and live stuff will all be previously released or if there will be some new nuggets in there? (and if those will be released!)
  9. Maybe this is inappropriate, but could anyone PM a link to Together at Last and Mermaid Ave Vol 3? I bought those vinyls this summer to round out the collection and due to the lack of DL card I can't get them on my ipod. Again, I apologize if this is inappropriate but I have a hard time justifying paying for an album twice!
  10. http://pitchfork.com/news/daniel-johnston-announces-final-tour/ Jeff and friends backing Daniel Johnston 10/20 at the Vic. Anyone seen him before?
  11. Finally relented about picked up the yellow copy on my walk at lunch. Looking forward to giving it a spin this weekend, even though my expectations are relatively low. Seems like it could be a pretty great lazy sunday morning on the couch album.
  12. For some reason, the album not coming with a download is really turning me off to buying it.
  13. I was really on the fence about this show after the relatively static setlists in Chicago, but thank god I went. Poor Places, How to Fight Loneliness, Monday, Muzzle of Bees and Forget the Flowers, hell yes. Energy was great too once people started standing up.
  14. that's kind of cool, will vote for summerteeth even though I won't be there.
  15. I'm very excited that In a Future Age is on there, just wish there were more deep cuts like that!
  16. Interesting. Would have been great if it was new music, but I suppose between Sukierae, Star Wars and Schmilco we've been pretty spoiled in that regard as of late. Kind of disappointing there aren't more deep cuts instead of tracks like Hummingbird, Via Chicago, etc. Since the website describes this as "Session 1" I wonder if there will be more releases in the future.
  17. I really wish that this was in a location more conducive to me getting to go, it sounds awesome. Oh well, living in the Chicago area I can't complain about anything Wilco related! Maybe someday I'll take the plunge.
  18. Didn't even realize there was a presale today until I saw Wilco's tweet and long story short a second row dead center aisle seat was too good to pass up so it looks like I'm going to Milwaukee after all!
  19. ugh, do I want to go to Milwaukee? My head says no - I saw all 4 Chicago shows and this will be exactly the same, plus its on a sunday AND father's day. But my heart says - dude it's Wilco and only an hour away, go!
  20. In my 30+ shows, I think the only thing I haven't really seen (besides Schmilco songs) is a non-hootenany New Madrid. I could go for a hell of a lot more than my 2 Pieholden Suites though.

    Spoon

First listen is pretty good, but not great. A few of these tracks should be absolute bangers live. I like that they're experimenting and evolving while still sounding like Spoon. Will be hard to ever top Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga in my mind though.
