Yep Dude had surgery post YHF and it completely changed the timbre of his voice as I hear it. I didn't recognize that it was Jeff singing the first time I heard "Spiders" on a boot pre-AGIB. His voice is a very different instrument now then it was. I'd like to say it's more subtle or nuanced but I don't feel that really hits the mark quite right. I for one prefer the old Tweedy voice and every now and then when a track he recorded before the surgery pops up (Love and Mercy, Let Me Come Home) it's a joy. That being said the way he uses his voice now has grown on me. Also solo acoustic "Not

Or will "Wilco (the Album)" be the first album, excepting the Mermaid albums, that is recorded by the same lineup as the previous?

Hey folks, The good people over at Vinyl Collective are carrying the reissues. If you can please order from them, they are a true indie shop that does some great great stuff. http://www.vinylcollective.com/2009/04/22/...-w-cd-reissues/

Hi, being an idiot i'm sure, how do you download the mp3's from AD? Everytime I try it only opens them in a player. So what am I screwing up?

My favorite line-up of the band for sure. Intensity is the right word too. Those four (and a half) dudes had it going on in a way that wasn't present in any of the shows before or after that point.

So if there was a Tweedy-Farrar/UT reunion who would play drums? Tweedy pissed off/ fired Coomer and Farrar pissed off/ fired Heidorn. It just wouldn't work with Glen folks....
-
I listen to it as honestly as possible. Up with twang! Up with Henneman! Down with Wilco!

Well it could never go back to being "that" Wilco either way. #1 Jeff's voice is totally different now. His post YHF surgery changed fundamentally the timbre of his voice. #2 They aren't playing the tiny "rock" venues they used to anymore. Which I think is a bummer for most of us but great for them. #3. Tweedy moved on. Just as I wouldn't expect anything other then nostalgia from a UT reunion neither would I expect some great new tracks from a Bennett return. All that being said I really hope they polish up the YHF demos for a 10 year anniv edition of the album. Maybe Jay could work

Wilco. Had Jay Bennett not left the band

what possible meaning does this have? also doesn't this count? -
I'd like to second that motion

I'd have to agree to Summerteeth being a winter album all together

Brian Henneman...is a bad motherfucker

Bad math I think. How do you get "Quarteriohead" out of a 5 person band? I and 1/4 members are good? Also Neil is really one of the best songwriters around. No respect for Sebastian Steinberg either? Who doesn't love the Soul Coughing? As for a clusterfuck the last one of these worked out pretty great If Liam Finn and Glen could do a side project/ opening act the world would be a more perfect place. That kid is pretty damn good. Caught him at Bottom of the Hill in SF just a bit ago. check him out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2-EGFS4-ck

How long did you wait in line to vote?

Just waited about 20min in San Luis Obispo, CA -
Oh man............either you have this all wrong or i've gotta quit my band now! Damn......that is harsh. You don't like beer do you? You know I like both of those albums quite a bit myself. And really anyone who has ever seen a Jeff solo show can tell you that underneath either the noise or the twang its all good songwriting!

So were the shared lyrics originally for Apples or Drummer?

Yeah Wilco/Finn/Radiohead would be the zenith of my favorite people but I read the comments in the interview differently. I thought he was saying more 7 Worlds Collide (the Finn/Radio/Marr/Vedder/Liam/SoulCoughing thing) and some things with Wilco as a seperate topic. Maybe i'm wrong though. Jeff singing with Neil would be pretty top notch i'd suppose. His vocals paired with Gary Louris always work well...

Remember the time they had that one magazine that was only about 5 bands and yet it managed to publish 75 issues and a few books? ...That was cool.

I just tonight saw the band that is opening for them in Alaska, the Whipsaws, they were stellar. Although maybe they should be playing with Being There era Wilco. Still they were an awesome band that put on a killer show to a tough room so I imagine they will be even better in their hometown opening for the mighty Wilco.

Thoughts on their new one "Blame it On Gravity" ?

Has anyone posted this yet? Am I not seeing it?

Hell yeah. Just saw Drags final Colorado shows and they were on fire. Very good for any "old" Wilco fan. Good call.
