  1. *overshadowed* was like the right word to me while the image still didn't appear on my screen. It did since. Haven't heard that one.
  2. Forgot to add Goodnight Nobody to my "Best Albums of the New Century" list... It's a masterpiece. It opens with a wonderful song called "Snow Falls in November" - here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvCsQti8A48
  3. Tweedy could cover the whole album, I think, it would kick ass. I mean, I really can imagine Tweedy singing all these songs. The voice has the same range, and Tweedy's one would even be more tuneful, with great arrangements of the band. Did he ever cover "Memo to My Son", for instance? Anyway: it's a masterpiece.
  4. Oh, I see. You even have stuff for slow things, and stuff for more upbeat things. "Some Kinda Love" being especially good.
  5. Uhm, to me, this album is an untouchable masterpiece. Pure genius from start to finish.
  6. It was humor. I really don't like Conor Oberst.
  7. Too bad, I used to like Matt Ward a lot.
  8. Almost nobody gave Niobe's White Hats the praises it highly deserves, and I feel ashamed for the whole Human kind. This record is pure poetry, as beautiful as Arthur Rimbaud's Illuminations. But who's to hear it?
  9. Here's my deal: anyone send me a copy, and if I happen to like it, I'll keep it.
  10. Can't remove anything from these 13 ones... Jenifer Jackson - Birds (2000) Rachel Ries - For You Only (2005) Niobe - White Hats (2006) Amy Rigby - Til the Wheels Fall Off (2003) Jill Sobule - Underdog Victorious (2004) Sam Phillips - A Boot & a Shoe (2004) Patty Griffin - Impossible Dream (2004) Amy Allison - Sad Girl (2001) Laura Cantrell- Not the Tremblin' Kind (2000) Devon Sproule - Upstate Songs (2003) Neko Case - Canadian Amp (2001) Joe Pisapia - Daydreams (2002) Anny Celsi - Little Black Dress & Other Stories (2003)
  11. You really should! It's $40, but a 4 CDs box set, with a rich booklet (photos and informations - one page for each song - there are 120, 30 songs per CD). And the music makes my joy. It's sixties cream, and it does convince you the music of these time was the best ever. The Carole King demo of the "Crying in the Rain" classic sounds even better than the Everlies version. P.P. Arnold's "The First Cut Is the Deepest", Sandie Shaw's "Girl Don't Come", Ellie Greenwich's "You Don't Know" (that lady wrote "Be My baby", "Leader of the Pack", etc!), Evie Sands' "Take Me for a Little While"... are
  12. In response to your thread below, I think I won't be tired of it until 2009.
  13. I'm pretty sure it made new fans of Lucinda. Example of a review taken from a famous site (where we buy CDs) : "This is the first album I purchased by Lucinda Williams and I was blown away after the first listen- it is wonderful! The raw, dark, heartfelt lyrics, the musical arrangements and the recording quality all lead me to one conclusion- best album for 2007. Every song is a winner here. I need to get some more Lucinda Williams music now! Wow!" (October 28, 2007) (and no, this isn't me)
  14. If the old vinyls of your father are scratched, you can ruin the needle of your record player, and then ruin the beautiful vinyls you've been collecting for years. Which is pretty fun.
  15. damn, you were fast correcting my mistake before I delete my post! I of course confused with the magnificent previous NP album which I'm listening right now
  16. I hope not. Actually I'd like to hear Mr Tweedy lead a girl group, trying hard on imitating Diana Ross. But they say I'm not realistic.
  17. Bought Mirrored this year, was impressed on the first listens, as it's well-played and it sounds great, but I ended to be bored, 'cause I don't find soul nor joy in this music. It makes me want to get back to the good ol' folk music
