  1. Thank god! They would have to take a serious downfall in the quality of their music to obtain that amount of commercial success.
  2. Neil Young and Woody Guthrie have something to do with Tweedy's development.
  3. Wilco (the song) always brings a tear to my eye and a smile to my face at the same time when i hear it played live.
  4. Purling Hiss is a interesting choice to kick off the music. Polar opposite of last years Pronto kickoff set. Last year we were tapped. This year a punch is thrown!
  5. as a taper and someone who generaly goes to shows for the music. The ones that laugh and encourage shout outs can at times be more annoying then the ones that do the shouting out. Bus to catch?
  6. in line with that idol performer and nudie suit link, Randy Jackson gave a shout out to Wilco tonight after the Ryan Adams song "come pick me up" was performed.
  7. I didn't realize that was so rare, or maybe that is just a inflated ebay price. i got mine about six or seven years ago for 25 bucks on ebay. Any one know how many copy's were released? it's a promo release so i would have thought a bunch.
  8. Any advise on this camera CANON REBEL XT/ EOS 350D SLR? I found a gently used one with a EF 55-200mm telephoto lens included, along with accessories; flash cards and such, for about $400. You guys seem to know what your talking about and i have seen and enjoyed Tinnitus still work. So before i pull the trigger is this a good entry level camera?
  9. 'You didn't miss much. I say that seeing all of them in Dallas, and the '81 Houston gig from 79'-83'. And i was 16 at my first; a age where rock does no wrong. Always Hot! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_United_States_heat_wave, crowded, expensive (i think i paid 35 bucks for the last one) I swore off festival shows after that '83 gig when Styx did "Kilroy Was Here" from start to finish and the place went into anarchy. Although i did amend that self festival ban when Wilco played New Port and now Solid Sound.
  10. A question to Jeff Tweedy- Yankee- Hotel- Foxtrot, in nautical signal flags translates to: Dragging anchor-Captain on board- In distress. Was this the feeling of you or the band during production of the release, and the reason for the title? If so, and you are the Captain. Was the recored label the anchor, or one of the band members?
  11. keep trying, i got four in the first row right balcony. But it appears they are selling fast.
  12. Steelers are staying in Fort Worth and with the roads in their condition i doubt your birdies.
  13. i sure remember you Beth. Allison and myself snagged the same room we has last year at the House on Main. Sorry your not going to be there with us this year. You should call Tim (the inn keeper) and see if you can at least come for breakfast. BTW loving the Wilco eye chart poster you sent me. Your too kind!
  14. I Just discovered Eilen Jewell; who used to live in the Berkshires, on XM radio who would be a nice fit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTuBoqon4JA
  15. I do remember the Jets winning but only after a google search did i remember the score, 23-15. What i remember most was how cold it was and how the wind was whipping off the lake that day.
  16. Do you believe in omens? I put my hand into a old coat pocket i haven't worn in ages today and this is what came out! A old ticket stub to a game i saw at the old Soldier field 13 years ago. Super Bowl XLV preview?
  17. More typical looser Patsy passionless shit talking! Get us next year and enjoy Sunday Tinnitus! Tommy boy better lock up Gisele next time Cro comes to town. Maybe she can spawn a real football player with the right seed.
  18. With those comments you sound like you belong on the shit-talking roster of the poor looser of whatever your team that got it's ass kicked this season! Ryan does talk shit and so do some of his players but it's shit talking with passion.
  19. If the Jets are nothing else this year, they are emotional! From day one of training camp up to the last game they played, In victory or defeat. They have been a breath of fresh air for me as a sports fan with their passion. Living most of my life in North Central Texas yet following this franchise year in and year out for the past 40 years. It's only fitting, in my world, they win a championship in my "back yard".

  21. why put the killer on the cover of Time magazine? Maybe the media needs to look in the mirror as to some of the issues this country has?
  22. i didn't stay there but i did visit and checked out the lodging with a walk through. There are dorm type areas that are very affordable or individual rooms that are a bit more. Nothing fancy, but if i had a large group that wanted to stay together or were tiring to save $$ i would choose this place way before camping. It's a bit of a drive down the mountain because of the two lane winding road. But leads you on the same place the main camping spot is for N. Adams is. And it's breathtaking all the way down. If you look back a few pages of this thread in the slide show i shared, the pictures
