Jeff Tweedy day in St.Louis?! Jeff Tweedy day Moderator edit: Wilco and Jeff Tweedy do not allow videotaping of shows from the audience. For this reason, we can't allow them to be directly linked on Via Chicago.

Berkshire mountain awe to end of summer blow out Wilco loves us all

the more the merrier It was very therapeutic for me creating it. I hope it was to everyone that went to Solid Sound and that viewed it too.
-
we also have the nicest emoticons for a board on the web! I feel if i had died or the end of the earth as we know it would have happened last weekend. I would have gone in the perfect environment with the most compassionate people on earth. I love how everyone, including the media. Had the same feelings towards each other at Solid Sound. That is rare in this day and age!

Agreed. if Mel would have showed, Kristen's avenue for improve and crowd interaction could have been something special. But the bits she did do were still pretty funny, and i would see her again if she did a local show.

The magic of the Berkshire mountains, the beauty of music and the love of Wilco. All rolled up into one glorious weekend! The pictures are a mix of mine and pit pros and the audio is what i captured with my rig. Put on your headphones and turn it up! enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbQh7t8UEwc

i only saw the end of John's set and all of Kristen's set. Were any of the others suitable for younger audiences?

I didn't get to see Tweedy +. i had to leave after Autumn Defense because of travel plans. i came this {} close to changing my travel plans and letting my wife; who had to start her teaching gig on monday, fly back to Dallas alone. But I decided to "look out for my love" for REAL!!!! i can't wait to hear the capture.

As a long time member of both rust and VC i can tell you, you will find a number of rusties here. i met long time rusties Harry O and Sara S after the Brenda set in the breeze way. And a added bit of coincidence the room i stayed in at the House on main B&B in Williamstown was called "Rust"

i agree! i hope they keep it a Wilco and side projects with a bunch of obscure bands they want us to hear. I'm Listening to the Brenda debut as i type, and I feel my collection has benefited from Solid Sound. Big acts bring more head aches for the attendees IMO. The shear fact of the venue being a museum is reason for Wilco to hope for what they got. Wilco fans and only Wilco fans. He knows we behave for the most part.

one more thing i forgot to mention was the merch sales! I spent 100 bucks between myself, my wife and gifts for the family. And it appeared the tables were always active throughout. No telling how much cash sales were generated not to mention CC sales. And ca$h sales are a lot easer to profit from, if you get my drift.

Wilco was the promoter and i don't see how they could have lost much money, if any at all. Unless they are figuring what they (the band and all it's other projects) would normally get paid for a gig. The vibe i got from all members of the band either just walking around or from the stage is that money was the last thing on their mind. Where's the overhead? The band paying them self's? The other obscure artist i sure didn't cost that much, and were probably rewarded and paid more then normally expected. The venue got exposure and North Adams and the surrounding city's got a nice shot in the f

I haven't seen any reports on the comedy at the solid sound so i figured i would get one going. I was fortunate enough to have a good seat for the Kristen Schaal performance and it was one of the many highlights of the Solid Sound for me. It took place in the Hunter Center which was a great setting for stand up. It got me out of the sun for a hour and the comedy added a special option that you don't normally get with music festivals. For those not familiar with her work she plays the part of a obsessive female fan "Mel" in the HBO series Flight of the Concords. I had figured her set would

Here's another informative article written about the event. After reading this it makes me even more proud to be a fan of the band and attending. My link

i like it better then Wilco's version. I would love to see Wilco rework that song like this version live with the Calexico horns backing.

I sure wish the solid sound web page had some info on taping policies. I would have hoped for this event that Wilco would have arranged a tapers spot for those of us hobbyist. I would love to be able to set my rig up early Saturday for the Wilco show, leaving me free of gear during the day. I'm sure logistically i will not be able to leave my gear; mainly my 12' stand, in the car for easy retrieval. Any other tapers here have ideas? The pain in the ass of airport security for me with my gear is enough to almost make me not want the hassle...Almost!

I could not find if this has been posted here yet, but a killer interview with Mavis and Jeff for American Songwriter magazine. My favorite line is when Mavis ask Jeff where has he been all her life! My link

I agree, as i'm sure most of us who are going have done exactly that to get our spot by the stage. I just wish they would have set up the stage "in the round" so there would be more front stage area for us to enjoy.
