  1. I agree. But you have to remember most people that go to gigs now days offer no respect for the opening act, especially if they never heard of them; as probably most Wilco fans did not know of John Doe or even the band X before that tour. I'm sure you will find rude behavior from a large percentage of most venues when Finn opens. IMO it's your loss if you don't give a opening act at least your attention for a few songs. To classify the music of John Doe as "90s-style shitty generic rock band" leads me to think drunkonaquariums gave little focus to his music on the night he saw them.
  2. here is the link. it appears to be a old AGIB interview though. i could not find any info on a new episode. http://www.studio360.org/episodes/2009/08/07
  3. i would have to choose my birth city, Firenze! My favorite band playing the city of the arts with plenty of free places for me to stay. Too bad i can't take off the time from work.
  4. my favorite is still the first one i ever saw back before MTV was on the air. But then again i still prefer analogue to digital! The Boomtown Rats. I Don't Like Mondays.
  5. Agreed! and it's the only venue i have ever arrived to in a horse drawn carriage when Wilco played there during the AGIB tour.
  6. Thanks for the heads up. My only complaint is that the lowest shipping option is $8.50 for UPS but frontgate is still a hell of a lot better then ticketbastard for service charges. i wish they would at least give a free will call option. it's gonna be a nice week at the Palladium for me with The Arctic Monkeys playing there on the 5th. BTW there ticketmaster also has a presale for Wilco that starts tomorrow. anyone want to wager a ticket that their service charges are going to be more then frontgates fees and shipping combined?

why not? we haven't had the pleasure of being a "Fly on the wall" of the bands space sense the wilco book.

i would really like to know what 45's he has loaded in that thing!
  10. I'm surprised XMU didn't pick it up. They have been playing Wilco in heavy rotation lately.
  11. Maybe 100% was a bit of a exaggeration. I have never thought Jeff was a bad guitar player just a average one. But sense the arrival of Nels his live play in particular has shown improvement. And the live setting is how i judge the work of guitarist.

yea sam's hats pretty cool too. BTW is that a obama bobble head hidden by the lamp over Jeff's left shoulder?

BTW my copy just landed and the pictures are outstanding! I should have known Jeff would be sporting the "coolest" ride and shades of the bunch! The photos are worth the price of the Magazine!

I see your point...Pete Townshend is God!
  16. I think Jeffs guitar work has improved 100% sense the addition of Nels. Nels has brought more to the band then just his superb play but also his influence and technique on the way Tweedy approaches the guitar.

i love how modest the boys room looks. Besides the Who poster did anyone recognize who else the boys have represented on their wall?
  18. anyone see Entourage the other day when Turtle was taking a poll of who would F*#K Seth Rogen? I think Turtle secretly wants to... Me? i would like to just shake his hand for giving Wilco some love on the big screen!
  19. I'm in a bull black Chevy Nova, silhouetted by the setting sun i just love the way Jeff sings "Bull back chevy nova" during this part.
  20. Watching this performance is exactly the reason i prefer live music to recorded. After two weeks of heavy rotation listening to the recored i never fully appreciated the guitar parts until last night. Nels work at the end of this song added so much to the vibe of this song watching him play it live. Great job Wilco!
  21. I agree 100%! After sitting with this album for the past two weeks every spin offers me more and more emotional satisfaction. Although i think this release has the true; recent, Wilco sound. I also think this release is one of the most heavily influenced by Neil Young too. Especially the track Black Bull Nova. Here is hoping a Texas stop in on the horizon. I would love to see how this material translates live.
  22. I haven't even digested SBS yet! Now a new recored is being released?!?! Damn i live these guys!
  23. This charge is one the i never understood. Let's review... i have to use my own paper, ink and hardware and i am charged extra? But it's free if they mail me my tickets? I still have yet to figure out why anyone would print their own tickets. If they don't show up in time for the gig all you have to do is go to will call and they will print you a new set at no charge.
  24. i taped it and you can grab it here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=241347
