I love the idea of two weekends of ACL, although i do not go to the ACL. I live close to Dallas and most of these acts will pair up during the week and play small venues around here for a fraction of the cost. This year we get two weeks! I can't wait for Rocktober to get! here! :-)

Here is the ACL promo video for the announcement of the line up. Is it my imagination or is this seriously influenced by Wilco's SBS cover?

For me it's always a tough choice. It's like picking a favorite child. The first year i got to go, i picked two covers i knew he would not play just so he would play the song i really wanted to hear. "When You Wake Up Feeling Old". For those not familiar with the process, you submit three songs and Jeff choose the one he wants to play. Boy did i take some shit from him that year when i told him the motive of my selections.

Jeff played about three and a half hours and seemed to have a good time with the Q&A's too. One question about the DH in baseball it was revealed he thinks pitchers should bat and not be exempt from retaliation of the bean ball. He also revealed that he thought most of this board hates my selection of "Leave me (Like you found me)" as it's never requested. He thanked me for requesting it and thought it to be a bold request on my part. WTF it's a great song!

Just to prep those that have not been to a SS fest this slide show i made back in 2010 from the first festival might offer some insight onto what to expect. The backing music is from my master recording. enjoy!

The numero group did a cool visual set in one of the out door court yard stages during SS I. If the weather is nice, i would prefer being outside. Nothing like fresh air, stars above, good music, and film all rolled into one.

Does any one have any info if coolers or lawn chairs are allowed at this venue? I can't seem to find any policies listed.

My daughter and i filmed our project this evening. Using a rare North Central Texas July thunder storm cloud from the West looming in sunset as the back drop. Now we have to choose our shot. It's been a fun evening and project for us too. But damn that sun goes down fast when your trying to photograph its beauty.

Wakarusa 2005. Wilco headlined the main stage on Saturday evening. Son Volt was a spare on Friday . No public evidence of reconciliation that weekend between Jeff and Jay.

Wild flags new release is pretty good. I never got a chance to see S/K but was hoping for a tour from these four lady's at a venue near me.
