  1. True. For "Long Time Ago" I thought specifically I read that the lyrics were Gary's. I do miss Golden Smog. It was great seeing the full band at the Vic in '06 touring on Another Fine Day. That was definitely not sold out, which surprised me. [Edit: jinx, Lou!] In a semi-related story, on Sunday morning I heard "5-22-02" in the Pittsburgh Airport T.G.I. Friday's. What?
  2. I think I recall reading somewhere that Gary wrote "A Long Time Ago." Not that Jeff had nothing to do with it, I'm sure.
  3. In Pittsburgh, Jeff took a question from a woman near the front. I couldn't hear it all, but the gist was that she really loved "Gun" and wanted to know if they would play it. Answer: nope.
  4. I will buy this on Record Store Day! I'm excited. I also loved that there was an email from Nels' Crypto mailing list today that began, "OK, everyone, don't freak, but I am actually writing something like this for the first time ever..."
  5. I had a sip. Not the biggest fan. (Since it was a sip of yours, Tamala, does that disqualify you from the contest?) Because all of this has a lot to do with the show. I'm so happy you could come, T! We missed Rob, though. Next time. And next time, maybe they'll opt into "Sonny Feeling."
  6. Glenn accidentally launched into "You Never Know" one song too early. Oops! Also, nice spotlights for the intros. It was wonderful hearing "More Like the Moon" again - the sound was so crisp in the theater compared to Montclair [i still love you, Wellmont! call me!] it was almost like hearing it for the first time. Same with "When You Wake Up Feeling Old." "On & On & On" was a welcome surprise. I can't remember the last time I heard it. When I saw the song about to begin with no guitar for Jeff, I just thought it seemed awfully early for "Hummingbird." I forget how powerful
  7. Couldn't we just give that subject a rest? At least until the Pittsburgh show has happened? It's been thoroughly discussed, and pitt hookah has posted that he's "reassured."
  8. Nobody's talking about the rave! Most unique "version" of "I'm a Wheel" I've ever heard. I thought everything sounded quite good near the front; a pleasant surprise given the look of the room. The show transcended the chatting. (Given the fact that everyone who wanted to drink was penned off on the right and upstairs, chatter from over there was pretty much inevitable.) I can't believe I've heard "Dreamer" three times in four shows on this tour. Not to mention "That's Not the Issue" and "I Must Be High!"
  9. By the way - thanks again, Maggie, for finding my ID!

  11. Dammit!! This request process needs to be more precise! I'll hold out hope for hearing it tomorrow or Sunday. Or, you know, some other time in the future. Glad you got a good show!
  12. Pitch a tent ... where? At the museum?
  13. Conquered, New Hampshire? Cute story about the kids! And I can picture that guitar, P. I'm trying to remember from what.
  14. I had fun listening to this in the background last night while doing other things ... at least until Jeff casually dropped the details of the rumored fest and my head exploded. But the sound over the speakers was great. As bbop mentioned, obviously I wouldn't trade the experience of being there in person in Montclair, but it was nice to hear all the nuances so clearly. (Of course, he actually was there in Boston. But whatever! My point is still valid.) Really nice setlist, as usual for this tour. I think they should close out with 40 songs in Pittsburgh! For-ty! For-ty! Oh - what w
  15. This is from another article: "Additional music by Wilco?" Dear God, how?
  16. I'll bet the worst-tasting thing on that site is the McSpaghetti. I'd like to try that banana pie. When I was in Alaska, I saw this advertised: Never got to try it, though.
  17. You know you can count on me, my non-Asian friend. I also wanted to add that I've really been loving the way that, in "Not for the Cat" (that's what I'm calling it now), Nels uses his acoustic guitar for some percussive elements. A little bit like "Radio Cure," but different stuff.
  18. I couldn't help cheering that. I mean ... I'd say that Mike's Easter Bunny synth jam wasn't quite solo. It was an infectious little tune, and there was some other instrumentation toward the end there. If only we'd heard the "egg" version. "What's the World Got In Store" was a treat to hear, and it sounded great. I also loved the full electric version of "Dreamer," beefing up the stripped-down version we saw in Montclair. I wish I had more non-Easter time to explore Providence. As it is, I'm already looking forward to next weekend in Pennsylvania. (I think I'm spending every wee
  19. I don't have the setlist, so I apologize right off the bat. If nobody else does, I know bböp will post one at some point. But I thought I'd start the topic for discussion in the meantime, and reserve his favorite title protocol. I'd just like to inform Tamala that the rainbow SG was used for "Too Far Apart" tonight.
  20. The only way I could be pretty sure it wasn't a dream was that they didn't launch into "Kicking Television" to close. What a great run. One more night!
  21. I almost forgot: nice subtle Good Friday reference in "I'll Fight."
  22. What a great show this was! I mean, really. I'm so glad I had the foresight months ago to realize I probably didn't want to miss this tour. I don't think I stopped grinning for the duration of the stripped-down set. Possibly the whole show. More Like the Moon.
  23. I was thinking it's more like American Idol. And every song is one of the top 24.
  24. I admire the enthusiasm people have with their requests, but I have to say I'm a little surprised Wilco doesn't have the technology to only allow one vote per IP address or something. I mean, if their intent really was to play the songs that, overall, the most people in a certain market wanted to hear. But if they're wanting to reward really persistent people, that's cool too. Maybe if they only took one request per IP, the top ten requests would be really boring?
  25. You'll likely get more responses in the non "after the show" forum, since it's before the show. Moving the thread...
