You know (and I know this will be an unpopular opinion) this is what i love about the BCS! I love the NCAA BB tournament, but I love college football for games, yes, but also for the fact that there is a week of interesting debate between games. The BCS being so flawed keeps football on my mind all week, all season. Whereas if there was a playoff, I wouldn't pay attention at all until January, just like I don't pay much attention to college hoops until March.

I think there' s a lot to be said for that argument, but (and I noticed you specifically said "neutral field" ) Stoops also makes a good point that if Texas is ahead of OU based on head to head, then TT should be ahead of UT for same reason. Really it's a mess and despite Texas being #2 in the BCS rankings this week, I think they have the slimmest chance of representing the Big 12 South in the Big 12 Championship. Why? Well, as I said earlier, the human voters already have OU ahead of UT. The computers have UT with a slight edge, but that will be gone with OU playing a higher ranked opponent

Well that's the trouble. With Texas ahead in the computers and OU ahead in the human polls, I think OU will jump UT in the overall BCS standings if both win next week. But if OU doesn't jump UT, it would be UT playing Mizzou, not OU, because the BCS standings are used as the tie-breaker in the Big 12.

Yeah I think your bias may be showing. Stuff that Radiohead has done probably doesn't sound all that original now precisely because they have been such a huge influence that everyone has adopted elements of their sound. Again, I love SFA. We actually flew to Austin earlier this year just to see SFA because that was as close to CO as they were coming. And I think they HAVE been inventive, maybe just as inventive as RH, but not more so.

I've never been able to get into AC or Panda Bear despite the fact that when i read reviews of their stuff, it always sounds like something I would love. But I just don't get it. There are a few moments from Person Pitch that I like, but feel often that it doesn't know where to quit. They could use a bit more self-editing for me. Odd coming from a fan of the GD and Phish. ETA: I love SFA and think they don't get the "props" they deserve, but I would have a hard time arguing they are MORE inventive or better than Radiohead.

But OU plays OSU this week and UT plays A&M. A win over OSU is of higher quality than a win over A&M, right? I like this album quite a bit, but this is my biggest problem with these guys. They need to lay off the 'verb.

Yeah I've learned all of those and Mockingbird is still the ONE that I could never get quite right. Actually the riff in Oh Kee Pa is tough too. Songs like Fluffhead and Reba are complex compositions but don't require too much finger gymnastics to play.

We watched Tropic Thunder last night and we both loved it. We started the documentary Flock of Dodos as well, but still have about 45 minutes left. So far a very good doc on ID vs. Evolution. It was made by a former Harvard marine biologist who studied under Stephen J. Gould, so it does have a bias, although i thought it was handled PRETTY fairly. There is an evolutionary biologist that is featured that I swear is TheMaker. Ha. I particularly liked the scene where they talked about the problems with the "God of the gaps" idea espoused by ID proponents.

I LOVE Col. Forbin's->Mockingbird, but I thought that might be asking a little much (yeah because what I have is totally realistic! ). I think Mockingbird might be the hardest thing to play in their entire repertoire.
