  1. Huh, I've never come across that. Is that more common in the developer world perhaps? As for the site I am launching, it will simply be a field to type or paste a cover letter and then you simply attach your resume as a Word doc. That's it!
  2. My fiance is in the market for a new laptop. She would love a MacBook Air, but they are ridiculously expensive. Can anyone suggest a VERY lightweight laptop that doesn't break the bank? She wants a full laptop not something like an UMPC. I think the Air is the smallest out there, so I realize it wouldn't be THAT small.
  3. I'm actually very close to going live with a side business that is a niche online job site. I'll be posting about here when it goes live. I don't understand what you hate about it. Don't you just write a cover letter and attach your resume?
  4. JUDE, you definitely make a good point and one I have considered (although I agree many didn't/haven't), but to me that is the "sacrifices" we will need to make. Let me ask you this: do you worry about the relative value of the dollar if we don't attempt to pay down the debt and reduce the deficit?
  5. For those hyping the new Deerhunter, how does it compare -- both stylistically and in quality -- to Cryptograms. That one never grabbed me, so would I be wasting my time with the new one?
  6. Saw Malkmus with Blitzen trapper last night and can't get enough. I'll tell you what, though, those BT kids look like they just came from a HS battle of the bands. Man, do they look young or am I just getting really, really old?
  7. Seriously, if we are going to get into the hottest broads on Elisabeth Hasselbeck starring shows, can we at least make it Survivor and not the View?
  8. I wasn't trying to imply that anyone is. In fact, that's kinda the point. Other than the simple fact that he happens to be black and therefore the first black President-elect, race hasn't been an issue much at all for most.
  9. Yup, I agree. It is historically significant, of course, but it is far more significant, in my opinion, that he wasn't elected because of his race, despite his race, but more with complete disregard for it.
  10. What if they had Phil Collins guesting on "silly walk"?
  11. MSNBC, not more than five minutes ago, corrected this and says he has not yet accepted. Probably doesn't matter because I can't imagine he won't accept.
  12. FWIW, Rahm has reportedly been offered the job, but has yet to accept.
  13. I just missed out on the '88 election. It was nice to see CO go blue again. My first Presidential election was when I voted for Clinton in '92, the only time CO went blue (prior to yesterday) in the previous 10 elections. I am 2-2.
  14. So he's got that going for him... which is nice.
  15. So what's holding up NC and MO? Are all the votes counted and it's just too close to call and they need to recount or are there still absentee ballots left to be counted? Or some other reason? My brother and I have a bet (closest to the number; no Price Is Right rules). He has 375 and I have 350.
  16. I still associate it with Bulls victory rallies. Priorities!
  17. If it turns out Obama is a cat person, I want my vote back!
  18. This has nothing to do with the issues he ran on and everything to do with abandoning all the so-called "character" he was so proud of (and rightfully so). He did try to win an election and he sold his soul to do it. I think he may be taking a good long look in the mirror this morning and find himself not too proud of what he did to try to win.
