That name sounds familiar.. I think I've seen their shows advertised before. I'll have to check them out on myspace. Maybe you can make it to one of our shows sometime.. Just check our website in my signature for dates. Our original music is sort of "southern rock/alt country".. We haven't recorded in a while, so the stuff on the website is pretty out of date and our sound has changed some. But if you come to a show, we play originals, but also play pretty much anything the audience wants us to.. And I mean anything.

Thanks for asking. We play pretty much all over South Carolina, and sometimes we venture into surrounding states.. We'll be playing in Edisto Island this Saturday. It's about a 30 minute drive or so from Charleston, incase you're not familiar with it.

Used to be Lamrod's Wife taken from the line in "Hotrod Hotel" "The lamrods wife looks in their doors and finds one terrible sight.." Even though I have always wondered if the line was mis-interpreted and it's supposed to be "landlords wife" Everyone on the board thought I was a chick, so I changed it to Lamrod.

You are right on the money.. The top 40 needs more bands like Wilco to take the place of the shit bands (or singers, dancers, or other garbage in the top 40).. Good bands, like the various bands discussed here at VC.. Bands that don't suck and are liked by people with good taste in music. One of the members in my band is currently writing his college thesis on this subject. It talks about how Art/Music is sadly, dieing out.. And it's because of record companies that just want to sell an image and music that has no artistic meaning, just a catchy tune that gets old fast.. But thank God

Great point. When I see Wilco selling out shows, VW commercials, SNL, Letterman, etc, it makes me think that maybe.. just maybe... that bands are starting to to be commercially accepted based on their artistic abilities, and not how pretty they are, or how Pop they are, or how good they can dance.. A lot like it was in the 60's.

Well, hey, that's your opinion and I respect it. But I think the majority of Wilco listeners like Nels.. IMO, it's hard not to like him if you realize what all he does for the band. Yes, their sound has changed some since he's joined the band, but just think if he was around for the YHF days.. I guess I just like him so much because I'm a guitar head, but I think he does more than just add phenomenal guitar playing, he helped on some of the arrangements for SBS, and I can't wait to see what he does for their next album.

That's funny stuff. I don't believe this show sold out. Were their a lot of empty seats, or was it close to capacity?

I have been screwed so many times by using cheap and or damaged cables. Nothing worse than starting the intro to "Sweet Child" (yes, we get many requests for that song for some reason) and about every third note is actually coming through the amp... Take care of those cables, and buy the good ones. Also great advice.. Something I've never done.. Maybe that's why I always have static. I think I'll get some WD40 on my way home today.

With the Charleston show being rescheduled for August, I start worrying.. "that's a long time from now.. what if they go through another member change.. God forbid, Nels leaves the band..." I seriously doubt that will happen, but still... Nels really has brought Wilco to their prime, and he is hands down brilliant on SBS.

FYI - Audio doesn't work if you use Windows Media player. Haven't tried it in another player yet, but I'm sure it works with Divx.

Yeah, I hate festivals... Too many shitty bands to sit through before you get to the good stuff.. I don't smoke enough pot anymore to enjoy every band..

I'm always surprised at how many people still have never heard of Wilco.. "C'mon, the band that was nominated for a Grammy this year.. The band from the VW commercials.. The band on Conan, Leno, Letterman".. "Nope, never heard of them".. Maybe SNL will change that some. And I don't think thats a bad thing at all that they are getting bigger. The world needs more bands like Wilco in mainstream music.

I recommend Tuner first (so no other pedals can cause interference) Volume, Wah, Distortion, and then the rest can go in any order you like. But I'm interested to see other replies in this thread because I don't use most of those pedals.

I love all of the Star Wars references. In the making of "Blue Harvest", they talk about how all of the writers are huge Star Wars geeks.. When they first started using the Star Wars bits in their episodes, they would do them without permission. Well eventually, it dawned on them "I hope Lucas Arts doesn't sue us".. They asked permission, and Lucas was totally cool with it and loved the bits.. So they made an entire episode (Blue Harvest).. A must own DVD for all Family Guy fans..
