  1. No kidding.. My band is kind of on hiatus right now, hence no video posted yet. My wife (bass player) is in school, drummer has a new kid on the way, so we are sort of taking a break. However, I have been doing some "solo stuff" lately and I might post a solo Wilco cover video.
  2. As originally posted in the smoochy thread: "Pot Kettle Black Pepper-Crusted Roast Beef" The "You Never Know" - You never know what you get with this one... It's the mystery special of the day. The "Milkshake Drugs" milkshake.
  3. It's been in the 70's and 80's here in beautiful upstate South Carolina.
  4. Now drinking: Guinness Extra Stout. Can't ever go wrong really.... Couple weekends ago I had one of these at a bar in Aiken, SC: It's Guinness and Shock Top.. Pretty darn good. They had a whole menu of Guinness hybrids (Guinness/Newcastle, Guinness/Blue Moon, etc. etc).
  5. That's exactly what makes them awesome.
  6. I listened to this over the weekend... meh... I don't get it. The songs are very atonal (I gotta have at least some sort of hook) and the vocals sound like he's purposely trying to sing off key... I'll give it another listen or two, but not impressed at all so far...
  7. Not the porno film spin-off of "Debbie Does Dallas" thread that I was hoping for...
  8. There are some good one's in there.. Especially the Koosh Ball and Shamrock Milkshake..
  9. Interesting. Curious to see what happens to current T-mobile customers (I'm one). I've dealt with a lot of providers over the years and T-mobile has been the best...
  10. I remember my sister got one and it was broken the same day she bought it.. Yes they were as cheaply made as they look.
  11. Oh no... Oh.. No... Oh God no..... I'm going to blast London Calling on the way home from work to cleanse my soul of this madness... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izWRKl06XEY
  12. This is awesome, my favorite Wes CD. "Bock to Bock" is my favorite Wes tune.
  13. "I'm finishing my coffee" But yeah, french presses are awesome indeed. This thread converted me and it's all I use now... It's definitely more flavorful, no more filters, actually easier/quicker than a coffee maker, and it takes up a lot less counter space.
  14. Speaking of Bluegrass guitarists, this kid is a prodigy. 15 years old. The 12 year old female singer is great as well. Very talented little band.
  15. Baby's and/or kids are the greatest.. Congratulations! March 11th is my wife's b-day.
  16. Spacegrass? Sounds intriguing... I'm a big fan of Bluegrass guitar. There's no one that can play as fast with as much precision as a great Bluegrass guitarist. Doesn't matter who you are, it's impossible to listen to Bluegrass without smiling.
  17. I'll have to check it out. Elbow is a great band. Grace Under Pressure is one of my favorite songs of all time.
  18. I love one of the comments though "This is an OUTRAGE.What's the shelf life of that stuff? I'll need to buy exactly enough to have a bowl everyday forever."
  19. Yeah those chicks put on a good show. I saw them open for Dr. Dog last year.. Your description of their show is spot on.
  20. Thanks PT, I dig your tunes too. Yeah fucking Beatles.. They accomplished just about every cool song writing trick in the book.
  21. If song writing qualifies, I've been complimented on the songwriting techniques on a couple of tunes on my bands latest record. One of the tunes "If You Had Your Dream Plane" changes time signatures. The versus are in 4/4, the breakdown/chorus's are in 6/8. Also "Autumn Flies" was written completely..... how do I explain this.. symmetrical? If you are visualizing the song structure like climbing over hill, the guitar solo (center section) is at the top of the hill. The song is setup like this: Intro 1 Intro 2 Verse Chorus Guitar Solo Chorus Verse Intro 2 Intro 1
  22. Sorry but they're just terrible... And not the good kind of terrible...
  23. I'll second that fucking awesome.. And I can't believe I forgot Les Paul.. Saw him at the Iridium in New York City back in 99 or 2000. The old guy could still pick the hell out of the guitar too.. Got his autograph mounted on my wall. At the time, I was in NY auditioning for a music college. He told me good luck on the audition and wrote "keep pickin" under his signature.
