You apparently were not at the Jeff Tweedy show at the Orpheum in Madison. The crowd was down right obnoxious. While I don't think many people bought the tickets just for the heck of it (speaking of the Tweedy show) it does seem the larger the venue the more people who don't know the music show up. Generally it is those people who aren't there to listen to the music they are there to drink and be dumb asses. Props to Wilco for playing a smaller venue and charging about the same ticket price. Those that where lucky enough to get tickets hopefully are those that are respectful of the band

When I went around 3 (places no less) they said they sold all of their's by 10:30 (each place gets 50 or so). In fact one place said the Barrymore guys came in at 10:00 and told them they couldn't sell the tickets, and took them back. Online tickets are sold out. I would suggest calling the Barrymore 608 241-2345 - - Info Line 608 241-8864 - - Office Hope you all have some luck

    Help

Did you try emailing the Radio Station? They are generally pretty cool there. Except as of the last 5 years the music has gone down hill. I would try Joe Lambert, he is a big Wilco fan and the best DJ on that station. Their Website is 1055triplem.com. On a side note, I was actually at in studio performance. It was really cool and low key. Though the interview part was awful.

The likelihood of this selling out Today for the presale is prolly non existant. I don't think the Barrymore would be cool with selling all the tix before they go on sale to the general public, though an audience of all wilco fans would be pretty cool. With that being said it is a small place so if you do take your chances at the box office do it early. I would imagine it would take a week or two before the show completely sells out. I did buy two tix for the presale, but I need to buy more. I figure I buy the others on Friday.

I was hoping no one would be tlaking about this. Better chance of me getting tickets right away I don't think there is a password, from what I can tell
  7. Yeah I saw Jay Bennett smoke 4 or 5 packs of cigarettes that night. For anyone hwo whas there remeber the guitars? I think Jeff and Jay played a different guitar for each song.
  8. Oh my freaking god! The Barrymore? WTF? That place is super small. Like way smaller then the Orpheum. Get you tickets quick me thinks. I suppose it would be too much to hope that Califone opens for 'em.

  10. I actually thought it sounded like Coldplay.
  11. Is it a file that has been bought at the iTMS (iTunes Music Store)? If so you can do a couple of things Have the orginal user "deauthorize" all computers and then change the password for their iTMS account also try J Hymn Project. This "scrubs" the music and unlocks it. Unfortunatly it does not work with music bought with iTunes 6 or 7. Or if you upgraded to iTunes 6 or 7. If it is not music bought at iTMS, then I have no idea.
  12. I have had this album for a couple of days now. My first impressions after a couple of listens is the same to every other Jay Bennett solo effort (the Bennett Burch discs notwithstanding). I want to go up to Jay Bennett and scream at him, "For Fucksakes, man! 1000 different effects on a song do not make it good!" Jay's words are great, Jay's vocals are unique, but when put together with a producer that sounds like he has just discovered pro-tools the outcome is crap. Stop with the effects. I think Jay's production ruined this record. The vocals are so muddled; music is obscured by layer
  13. In no particular order Jeff Tweedy Michael Doughty (i'll fight you on this one if necessary) Ben Folds Rufus Wainwright Paul Westerberg Prince Eef Barzelay Michael Franti Frank Black Aimee Mann honorable mention Tim Rutili Neko Case John Flansberg and John Linnell
  14. and would have been funny if it was 10 years ago.
  15. That was not good. I am very disappointed. Now American Dad is on. I remember when Fox was cutting edge, not borning and stupid.
  16. Guess I am the hater on this thread, becasue it was not funny nor clever. 12 minutes in the episode, and I wish I would have watched the Dallas/Redskins pregame. Ok it is not that bad.
  17. I used to love the simpsons, but in recent years it has been more of a , then anything else. I think the show has become a parody of itself. But tonight I have nothing to do, I might as well turn on the TV and watch Jack and Meg. More then likely they will only be part of the episode for a few minutes in the beginning and a bit at the end. So I am not expecting anything great
  18. I just got this today. I haven't gotten into the whole Colin Meloy thing. We will see what this album does for me
  19. Hey me too. I just got this the other day nad I love it. I know I am a bit late to the party
  20. Weak, can't view it on my Mac. MTV sucks
  21. The Rolling Stones in general are in poor taste.
  22. Actually I think it is poor taste. Can't they think of an orginal name? Pretty weak if you ask me.
  23. Bigger than Blue is Jay's best solo release. It has some great songs and some that just suck. Is stuff with Burch is fablous and you can't go wrong with the two Palace records. Do not bother with anything else becsue it just is not good. I have always felt that Jay Bennett's music suffers from the fact that there is no one to tell him no. On Bigger then Blue some needed to say, "hey Jay 500 tracks of different weird looping changes, and 30 different guitar parts do not show your genius. Hold back a bit." A perfect example of this is Jay's version of Cars Can't Escape. Jay gr
