  1. Wordless Chorus is bliss right now!!!! WOW!
  2. Enjoy! So far "Golden" is the highlight for me, although the new songs are growing on me very fast.
  3. Due to the fact that I couldn't connect for the first song and a half, and a later brain-cramp that I had, I am not recording the show. I hope someone records and torrents the FM feed. I tried, and have learned for next time.
  4. I am recording the show, but it will be as one HUGE .wav file it will probably take me a few days to get it all sorted out, unless my wife lets me have alot of computer time in the next couple of days............
  5. I missed the first song, DAMN IT!!! It wouldn't connect. Now enjoying "Off The Record" though.
  6. I found a program called Replay Magic and its working, so I will record it (fingers crossed). If all goes well I will make a torrent of it and post it in here, if someone else doesn't get to it first.
  7. I found a program that might work. I am REALLY hoping they play "I'm Amazed" again.
  8. Is there a way I could record/save the MMJ set tonight onto my hard drive, or will the bootleg be around soon enough?
  9. I thought they rocked it out! I was impressed by their performance. I was hoping for "Waving Flags", but "No Lucifer" was great too.
  10. I am hiring LouieB as my personal jazz consultant. Salary yet to be negotiated.
  11. Really starting to love both these albums.....
  12. Here is me in all my Canadian, toque-wearing glory!
  13. My favorite album of theirs is "Outskirts". Rose-Coloured Glasses is such a heart wrenching song, and this album has some sentimental value to me as well.
  14. Just to give you all an update on my jazz exploration..... This last Sunday I got up, made a pot of coffee, and listened to "Kind Of Blue" front to back. It was amazing. I am learning more about the entire scope of jazz, and the many categories, sub-categories, and so on. "Kind Of Blue" is the most recent I am really enjoying. I am really diggin' alot of Billie Holiday (especially her work with Teddy Wilson, Lester Young, Benny Goodman), Jelly Roll Morton, Cannonball Adderly (the "Somethin' Else" album is a treat). So I am guessing from the '30s to the late '50s is what I am really into, not
  15. I really, really, really like "I'm Amazed".......June seems years away right now............
  16. In about 10 minutes I will be listening to 8 new My Morning Jacket songs!!!!!!! I spent way too much time on this board today, when I should have been working. Or, maybe I spent too much time working............
  17. Alright, my wife (the Bon Iver fan) has agreed to go the show even if he is not added to the bill. I am pretty new to Black Mountain but I think their songs would make for a good live show, so I am really looking forward to it. Ladyhawk and Nordic Nomadic are opening, and I have NO idea what they are like. Will be nice to get out of the house. Since I quit smoking last September I have been very anti-social.
  18. For posting this, you have made my day, and I cannot wait until the work day is done so I can go home and check this out!!!!!!! The more I listen to this band the more I begin to love them. My favorite song right now is "Lay Low" from Z.
  19. Currently, I would love to see a triple bill. Two-Minute Miracles, M. Ward, and then Wilco. I would be in heaven!
  20. We got married in '04. We had a band for the ceremony, consisting of my future bro-in-law (guitar), and three other friends (mandolin, pedal steel, and guitar). Before the ceremony and while my wife walked in they played instrumental versions of Innocence Mission ( That Was Another Country and Everything Is Different Now). During the registry signing they did an amazing version of Bruce Cockburn's "Live On My Mind", with all four guys switching off vocals (and the pedal steel player was great, his name is Bill Western, who has played with Nathan and other bands around here). We walked out to
  21. Does anyone have any info about Bon Iver being added to the bill for Black Mountain's March 27th show in Winnipeg? According to listings on the internet Ladyhawk and Nordic Nomadic are opening the Winnipeg show, but rumor has it Bon Iver has now been added to the bill. Please met me know if you have any info. Thanks.
  22. I read the liner notes of the Billie Holiday album I have and found Teddy Wilson played piano on alot of my favorite tracks so I will look for more artists that worked with him, from the 30's and early 40's. That seems to be the era that I am really enjoying.
  23. Sorry, I missed this one before. By early I meant from the '20s to the 40's, around that era I think. I am pretty ignorant to the whole jazz genre still, I guess. I know what I like, but I don't know where to find it. I did some reading on the swing jazz era, and I think I will follow that up.
