  1. It's Beatles Day on WTMD, my local college station (Towson U.). They are playing all the albums in chronological order with lots of interesting info in between. You can listen on line or on their app.
  2. I agree half heartedly. I don't need to sit through a washed up Neil Young. But I've seen MMJ and I attest that they are not overrated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'm the same. Unless I can score some amazing seats for DC, I'm out this tour. I would love to travel for some, but it's not feasible this time around. But, it's kind of killing me that I moved from CT. That New Haven show would be the one to go to. I'm also a little surprised they are playing the Cap again. Jeff did not seem happy with the chatty crowds last year.
  4. I'm guessing they will use those days in between making the rounds of the late night shows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I pray to the ticket goddess that my Boston friends get excellent seats.
  6. Not interested in those seats way in back at DAR. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The exact tickets I put in my cart are on Stubhub for $200 apiece. Damn them.
  8. DC is essentially sold out? I call bullshit. Scalpers got em again.
  9. The Orpheum is a million times better than the Wang. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I forgot to post it here, but 2 nights ago we saw Dawes play with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. The (very young) associate conductor had a great personality. They started off with just the symphony playing a Philip Glass piece, with a discussion about why that pairs well with Dawes. Then a regular Dawes set, then a set with both. A really cool format. It is the first in a series; the next ones are with Wye Oak, Dr. Dog, and The Lone Bellow. They are bringing in local food, drink and retail vendors, opening the doors really early, and $3 canned craft beers. Super fun.
  11. "Hallucinations" is a great book as well. Great man, indeed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Not my bucket list; but we just got back from 12 days in Europe with my dad. Because of a debilitating fear of flying, he has never been, even when I lived in Germany for 4 years. I guess he decided it was now or never, so it was my husband and myself, our 2 kids (12 and 13 y.o.), and my folks. We went to Paris, to see friends in Germany, Amsterdam, and toured the battle sites of Normandy. We rented apartments in Paris and Amsterdam and stayed in a shabby (not chic) chateau in Normandy. Ate some amazing food, drank some amazing wine, walked a ton every day, saw all the big site because Da
  13. Well, it was last night, but Jason Isbell and My Morning Jacket at Merriweather Post Pavilion. My first time seeing Jason Isbell, and my first time at MPP. But it is local for me now, so I'm sure not my last. Disgusting bathrooms though.
  14. I'm moving in to a new house this weekend. Excellent opportunity for multiple listens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I don't think we disagree at all. You had an actual person in the spot, and moved your chairs away for the music. That is considerate. It's the inconsiderate folks who have chairs and blankets reserving their 5'x5' space while they are out and about, then when the music starts they expect that they are entitled to all of that space. What you did is reasonable.
  16. Great weekend all around. Cibo Matto really stood out for me, along with Nels' guitar Saturday night. The book signing was really fun, and run very well, efficient. So generous of the band to do that. The chair/blanket issue is obnoxious. As mentioned, Newport does it right with chairs only behind the soundboard. You really can't expect to set up camp near the stage with chairs and a blanket right next to the stage, leave for most of the day, and come back right before Wilco. It's rude. Even more, when blankets are all spread out and then the owners get pissed that they are being step
  17. Real Estate were pretty funny with Grateful Dead teases in between songs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Either way is about the same amount of time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. 20 miles or so to Hartford, Ct; however far it is to Dublin. Also Berkeley and San Francisco as a close second. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. They have bike parking right at the front gate. The grounds aren't big enough to warrant a bike on the premises. Lots of good biking in the area though.
  21. Now I'm tempted to suck up the drive and go to Boston Calling tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Good topic. I'll give it a try. 5-(1975) Beatles. Thanks, Dad. 10-(1980) not sure. I was definitely listening to a pop station, and it was 1980. So, the Bee Gees? I don't know. 15(1985) the Who was on the way out, the Dead were on their way in. 20-(1990) Grateful Dead 25-(1995) Beck, Morphine 30-(2000) Beck, started listening to Wilco 35-(2005) Moby, Wilco 40-(2010) Wilco 45-(2015) Wilco, MMJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
