yeah... so far this is very low key... to the point of me not even paying attention i haven't heard a single discernable or memorable/catchy hook yet through track 7 edit: ok, Soul of a Man is pretty cool, finally a song that has caught my ear. also, the artwork for this record kinda blows compared to his usually very cool artwork

a few times i get vibes of the Arctic Monkeys it's not a flawless record by any means, but of the huge crop of upcoming Euro females, she interests me a lot more than say Duffy or even Adele (whom i do quite like tho, along w/ Laura Marling)
-
such as? kinda reminds me of the very early Sugarcubes, great energy
-
of course!

i think i'm in love

first got into them w/ At Dawn, then saw them open for Beth Orton sometime in '02, have been blown away by their live shows ever since.

their name has me sold!

honestly? it was just ok.... they did an abbreviated version of Touch Me Pt 2 the best part tho was when Jim put the Omnichord down, and took off his cape to reveal his flying V behind his back, then started rocking out Cloud Cult however KILLED it on Carson Daly

i'd at least wait until the 100% real/final thing comes out before you consider subjecting yourself to it. if the thing ever sees the actual light of day, i may give it one more fair shake.

who knows what is Tommy's and what isn't... word is there's over 2 dozen different musicians on this that said, the rest of the music was too annoying/grating/bad for me to really focus on any bass lines. i don't plan on subjecting myself to any further listens to check either

spot on. even if this was just a sad attempt at nostalgia, it'd be better than this. i'd rather see GNR play the casino circuit or small clubs in the suburbs than to try and be something they are not
-
this is the most fun thing i've heard in a LONG long time it blows the shit out of Night Ripper (which was still quite fun)

i sure hope these are still unfinished... wow this album is the aural equivalent of Star Wars Episode I, it sounds like it was created nearly entirely via computer
-
nah, they're all shit it sounds like some GNR meets NIN meets Donna Summer hybrid half the time. the drums almost all sound like drum machines, and Axl sounds out of breath and terrible on most all of the vocals man, it's sad how much i used to love them
-
it's absolutely HORRENDOUS... 100% awful wow
-
sweet! glad i didn't toss this in the "garbage" promo pile the other day as for that new Matt Mays record... yeah, digging it quite a bit

Chris Martin shows at least some honesty

i didn't say the music sounds like Arcade Fire at all, just that Chris has slobbered all over AF in the recent past and has obviously influenced him/the band Coldplay are a fine band, just boring. when there's bands like Doves and Elbow, i have no need to listen to Coldplay really. that and i've never been that big of a fan of Chris's voice. 2nd record was quite good tho. -
ah, ok they'd been opening the show with it w/ glen singing w/o any mic or amplification at the edge of the stage for the first week or two of the tour, must have started changing it up, cool btw, dunno if you guys are aware, but you can buy recordings of the SS tour here pretty cheap: http://www.playedlastnight.com/ they sound great
-
oh wow, those shows w/ Charlie Hunter will rule
-
to open the show? i think almost every night on the tour, not sure tho
