  1. I saw The Cars live. Unless the remaining members were playing a free show with free beer and an all you can eat buffet, I vowed never see them again.
  2. Always great to wake up to discover that Radiohead is heading out on an arena tour (sorry for the formatting issues): July 2018 Sat 7United CenterChicagoUSA Tue 10Madison Square GardenNew YorkUSA Wed 11Madison Square GardenNew YorkUSA Fri 13Madison Square GardenNew YorkUSA Mon 16Bell CentreMontrealCanadaON SALE 24 FebTue 17Bell CentreMontrealCanadaON SALE 24 FebThu 19Air Canada CentreTorontoCanadaON SALE 24 FebFri 20Air Canada CentreTorontoCanadaON SALE 24 FebSun 22Little Caesars ArenaDetroitUSAON SALE 23 FebMon 23Schottenstein CenterColumbusUSAON SALE 23 FebWed 25US Bank ArenaCincinnatiUSAON
  3. Great show. Lyric Opera House sound was an A+. Yep: see them if you can!
  4. Going Tuesday and Wednesday nights in Chicago as they close out this leg of the tour. On the last night of the European leg, they played all of “The Boxer” to open the show. Fingers crossed for a special night. I have never been disappointed in previous shows. Fired up.
  5. War on Drugs - Grade A show, despite the venue (Aragon, Chicago).
  6. Sept 2003 at the Auditorium Theater. They opened with a very ethereal version. You should be able to find it on sooutoftune.org. A very unique take.

    The Who

Anyone going to see Pete do Classic Quad? They released some some "less expensive" seats for Chicago two weeks ago and did get one. Eddie Vedder will join the ensemble. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BeH0pY2T49c&feature=youtu.be
  8. The album is currently streaming for the next 24 hours at TheWarOnDrugs.net (posted on 8/23)
  9. Thanks for posting the analysis. It took me two cups of coffee to finish it (though it seems like he drank two pots of coffee while writing it.) I have not been this fired up for an album release in some time, and I am lucky that I have a long drive later that day. I look forward to cranking it up and having an uninterrupted listen. I just wish that they did not switch the Chicago show from the Riv to the Aragon. Oh, well - more get to see what will be a great show.
  10. Confirmed. The show at Thalia Hall in Chicago was the Son Volt concert that I have been waiting to see and hear for years. Well worth it if he is in your area.
  11. Harbee's is decent for beer. Honky Tonk has BBQ. Skylark is about a mile away, but great for drinks and atmopshere - dive bar. Looking forward to the show, too.
  12. I enjoy the box seats a great deal, but the issue can be standing vs sitting. I like to stand. I will generally do the courteous thing and step to the back. If you are in a booth, you are more like in a Vegas-style seat with table. It can be a hassle to stand. Generally people will stand towards the door area in your little private area. Being in this area makes you feel you are away from the hoi polloi and are kind of special.
  13. It is approximately 5 PM and no phone call nor email. I am assuming I did not win the clock. The vigil is over.
  14. You are correct. Great way to start the show, too.
  15. There are a limited number of pavilion seats available via Jam Productions. They were going on sale on Thursday, but I just checked and pulled one for #103. It is now Friday about 11AM.

    The Who

I love "Hiding Out" from White City. Wasn't Pete's version of "Save It For Later" also played during this performance?

    The Who

I saw them twice last spring/summer, and they were excellent. Pete is on fire. One cannot help but see him as the Elder Statesman of Rock. I want to see them again for a final farewell, but I am hesitating simply because of the set list. They are playing similar songs to what I saw on the first leg. They are playing "The Rock" off Quad and "PIctures of Lily" has received some time. I am just not sure I want to drop the $. If you have not seen them recently, you should see them while you can.

    The Who

Damn. I hope he gets better soon. I am concerned about this final leg. The ticket sales have not been that strong. I have seen level 300 seats available on Groupon for the Milwaukee and Chicago shows. I went twice on the first half, and though they were great shows, I am hesitant to hitting one more if they don't change up the set list. Regardless, get better, Roger.

    The Who

I am doing a little surfing on the web as I listen to the stream on WFUV, and I came across the review of today's The Who show in Hyde Park. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/live-music-reviews/11699900/The-Who-British-Summer-Time-Festival-Hyde-Park-review-The-new-Who-can-still-thrill-five-decades-on.html
