Don't compare yourself to your favorite artists, just to other struggling songwriters like yourself. When you do that, you'll see just how much crap is out there... and just how good you are. You can then start looking at, you know, maybe you are a lot better than a lot of the stuff that is played on the radio now, too...

I LOVE the Meat Puppets. And the new albums are okay... but just not really kicking my ass. But maybe, like Lammy said, they are still kicking much live ass. I just wish Derek still on board.

Every single day, I come home from work to find a sink full of dirty dishes, and a dishwasher full of clean dishes. So, I have to unload and put away dishes before being able to load up the dishwasher, just so that I have enough room in the sink to (hand)wash the pots and pans and put them away. Every. Single. Day. And, to top it all off, my kids never rinse their bowls, which previously contained oatmeal, and now only contain the hard, dried crusty remains of said oatmeal. So, I have to scrape that crap off of there before even being able to put it into the dishwasher!

This is what I am talking about! Not this. I'm talking artistically, not financially. (I'm not a Phish fan either, so don't accuse me of bias against The Eagles.)

Today, quite accidentally, I have two albums with me that were the "comeback" albums from the respective bands' extensive layoffs. And both albums, while they're not going to be listed alongside the best work of either, are not the least bit embarrassing, either. Buzzcocks - All Set is a pretty solid album with some good hooks and Steve Diggle's whine very much intact. Plus, I saw them on that tour and they were absolutely outstanding. Os Mutantes - Haih... has just gone through one listen for me, and it's a pretty fun listen. The feedback that I've heard from their shows from the past co

Oh, you can totally post a mediafire! In fact, that is very cool of you to offer it up as such. Thing is, this topic is here for the sole purpose of CONSOLIDATING everybody's music into a single place, so that there is but one page where we can all go to hear a sampling of everybody's tunes! I would love to check out your music, for sure. Only, for folks like me who are at work most of the time, we cannot download anything to our computers here, so we CANNOT listen. However, if you would set up an IAC page (it's free), that would be very cool so that we can all hear your tune; and in contex

You know, when you offer your album up for free, but ask for a donation from the ones obtaining the disc; ask the listener to donate to the band whatever they think the album is worth? Even as little as 1ยข. I was thinking about trying to set something like that up for downloads... although CDs would still be set at a firm price. However, CDs will be on the donation system at my live shows... since your presence there is support in and of itself. If you've tried it, how has it worked out for you? Have you gotten more listeners since then? Was the feedback good? I'm curious to know, as I'm
