  1. So I was cleaning my apartment today and getting rid of a lot of clutter. Then I came to my CD's. I have about 200+ sitting on the bottom shelf of a book case in my living room. There isn't really a need for the space they are taking up, but I haven't used them in over 2 years either. My wife would also like to see them gone. I have a record store a block away that I might be able to unload them on as well. So should I get rid of them? I almost never buy new CD's anymore, mostly just stream through Spotify or Pandora so I hope not to have this problem again in a few years.
  2. Perfect timing! I am looking for a book to read along the lines of Infinite Jest, Gravity's Rainbow, House of Leaves etc. But am having trouble coming up with new ideas. Any suggestions?
  3. So in 2013 when he played in Denver I was getting married, now when he is playing in Denver in 2015 I will be in Ireland. Can't we coordinate schedule a little better??
  4. To be fair I was on my honeymoon. Also a few years ago I was visiting a friend in Manchester and saw United/Lyon and that was only 50 pounds. So I would say that in general Champions league games have been cheaper than non-sense friendlies with the youth team.
  5. I am down to play. My tastes run more towards the Italian league, but do follow the EPL as well. I went to the United Roma game in Denver yesterday. It was fun, but the stadium felt empty because the tickets were so expensive. I paid over $50 for nose bleed seats. I went to a Champions League game last year between Borussia Dortmund and Marseille and got lower level seats for 45 euro.
  6. Well stop by when you are in town. Though I can't guarantee that there will be any left by then. I love chili, lately I have been making it with steak instead of ground chuck. So much better.
  7. I love Cook's illustrated and Alton Brown. Though their recipes tend to take quite a while and require advanced planning. I also like http://smittenkitchen.com which is great place for desserts. I made this tonight - though out of a friends of the library cookbook.
  8. I am getting married in Denver this day. Do you think me and the new wife could sneak out and go anyway?
  9. Thomas Pynchon, Huruki Murakami and Philip Roth are the only three authors that I can say I have read everything they have published. But I have many other favorite authors the first that comes to mind is Joyce Carol Oates. Oh and JD Salinger
  10. Seems to me like what this sheriff did is a federal crime, even more so if he does it all the time like he says. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driver%27s_Privacy_Protection_Act
  11. Just re-watched "I am trying to break you heart" Man I miss Jay.
  12. I always view this situation as standard prisoners dilemma. If (for simple sake I'll just use China and the US, but expand as needed) both countries put holds on carbon emissions, prices go up, but the planet is better off. If one country does and the other does not, the country with no controls come out ahead and the planet is half better off. If both do not put any controls in place, neither gets left behind and the planet is worse off. In this case, because neither country trust the other fully to abide by regulations it makes sense for neither to agree to limits. There needs to be some inc

  14. Is this old? Some parts feel strangely familiar. Or were parts used in other things before?
  15. Oh lets just jump in? List of causes of death from 2010 from the cdc. Broken down by age range and cuase of death. (ie. 5-9 "unintentonal MV accident). It is only one page and big and bright. http://www.cdc.gov/injury/wisqars/pdf/10LCID_Violence_Related_Injury_Deaths_2010-a.pdfhttp://www.cdc.gov/injury/wisqars/pdf/10LCID_Violence_Related_Injury_Deaths_2010-a.pdf report from the California attorney general about guns and their use in crime. Not a big sample because; "Although legislation for this report states that the data should be based on information obtained from local and state crim
  16. 1) yes 2) two normal ticket = $95, two of these = $295. Depends on if we stay in Vail, or drive back to Denver. 3) not at all
  17. So my birthday is that week, and my girlfriend and I were thinking of going in for the "private reserve." Which is an extra $200 for the concert plus, "access to a preferred viewing area adjacent to the stage as well as complimentary food and beverages." Do you think it is worth it? We have never done a kind of VIP thing for a concert. Any input is appreciated.
  18. A mile at home a little less at work.
  19. I remember that Kony thing! Also remember that all the posters were to go up last Friday? I have seen 1.
  20. Thank you for the replies. I have looked over the interwebs, and quite frankly there are tons of receivers and some how more reviews. I have looked at an Onkyo many times. Also a Harman kardon, that has the some of the best amazon reviews I have seen. The zone 2 feature seems really freaking cool. I didn't know about that one. Any advice on buying in a store (either Best Buy or home theater store) vs buying online?
  21. Hi all, I am in the market for an AV Receiver. I am currently using a 10 year old Denon cd player to run sound for my TV, Blu Ray player (via the TV), turntable, Roku (also via the TV), my computer, and sometimes my iPod. As you can guess this involves lots of different cords, changing of chords to use different devices and not the best sound quality for anything but the CD player itself. I would say I have about $500 to spend, but any advice on cheaper models would be helpful. Only the Bluray player and the TV have HDMI output; everything else is the on the yellow and red cords. My computer o
  22. This may be the worst "top albums list" I have ever seen.
  23. Pre-sales start Wednesday (April 4) 10 am local time, for Red Rocks and for the Chicago land shows.
  24. Can you put this back up? their stream makes me want it again. I lost the original in a hard drive collapse.
  25. So despite the Wilco reference in the titles (Jesus etc.), Degrassi did Not feature any of Wilco's music.
