  1. Still one of my favorite things on youtube:
  2. Joe DiMaggio's Done Walt Whitman's Niece; Another Man's Done Ingrid Bergman - It's Just That Simple.
  3. How long is your Thanksgiving break?? Were you watching a season a day?
  4. I enjoyed Car Seat Headrest for a hot second earlier this year. I revisited the album recently. It's good, but ultimately very forgettable.
  5. Don't Stop Believin belongs in the Great Train Songs thread.
  6. Name an opera, and I probably heard it on Bugs Bunny first.
  7. I heard Steve Martin's version of "Under the Bamboo Tree" from The Man With Two Brains (great great all time classic comedy), way before seeing Judy Garland sing it in Meet Me In St. Louis (a nice movie for nice people), which I just saw for the first time this weekend. I think the original tune is way older than that though.
  8. So basically, Benmont Tench played on both songs. Their opening riffs sound the same, and then the Red Hot Chili Peppers decided they might as well jump on too. FWIW, the best thing I've ever read about Anthony Keidis is that his "singing" sounds like Vinnie Barbarino having an argument with a pinball machine.
  9. Not often, but last summer I got a glorious show as I was floating nekkid in the cold lake during a very nice sauna session. I didn't see a variety of colors - just an eerie green, but the dancing light cascades were fantastic. The star gazing in Ely is always fantastic compared to all the light pollution I get just outside of Chicago. ^^^Great photos Tinnitus. They remind me a lot of the Isle of Skye and the Outer Hebrides.
  10. Same family trip for 10 years going: Ely MN.
  11. MY BABY TAKES THE MORNIN TRAIN! HE WORKS FROM NINE TO FIVE AND THEN HE TAKES THE TRAIN BACK HOME AGAIN! TO FIND ME WAITIN FOR HIM

  13. 6 Questions Donald would have punted on if they were asked.
  14. Love Keef on the Flying V. There is (used to be?) a titty bar in NE Minneapolis: The 22nd Ave Station. We used to sing to each other: "Take me to the Station, and put me on the stage..."
  15. Ah. It's funny. I've never paid attention to their setlists - but on that last tour, they were locked into the same 10 song list: Rock N Roll Music She's a Woman If I Needed Someone Day Tripper Baby's in Black (the strangest song ever - The singer wants to get with this chick who is still in mourning, and he's ticked off about it - like, get over your dead boyfriend already.) I Feel Fine Yesterday I Wanna Be Your Man Nowhere Man Paperback Writer Long Tall Sally I'm guessing each show clocked in around 30 minutes. Such a strange set list - they opened and closed with covers. George got on
