Oh hell yes! Another question, though - I just noticed that my ticket receipt says "GA2". What does that mean? (edit - I just tried the KBCO presale, and the GA is listed as both rows 2-24 and 61-69, I'm guessing first come, first served, you can sit in either section. So I think "GA2" might just refer to price level 2 or something)
-
That is a bummer. Oh well, guess I'll try for a reserved seat and then try to sell my GA seat?
-
Elixir Sue, I'm guessing that's how the GA/reserved seats will be set up for Wilco too. I hope so, anyway!
-
Just got my ticket! I picked GA and will be camping out for a nice seat down front
-
My thoughts exactly. I'll be going because I live here and got the $60 tickets, but I wouldn't travel for it. Headliners are so-so, and the middle tier doesn't make up for that; it's the same middle tier as every other festival this summer. And I agree that whatever money C3 "saved" on the Lolla lineup will hopefully be "spent" on ACL.

No kidding? Source? Just asking because I'd heard Sept. 18th as well.
-
Aaaaaaanyway. Pearl Jam are more or less confirmed for Austin City Limits festival. I'm looking forward to it.
-
So who's in? Also, any idea how they're going to do the ticketing for this one? The info page on Wilcoworld isn't particularly helpful, and the Red Rocks site doesn't have it listed yet. I know that Red Rocks sometimes has alternating GA/assigned seating sections, and I'm wondering if the front rows will be GA this time.

But you didn't see him on his solo tour last year, right? I think he's an extremely compelling performer, and his musicianship has come along light years, especially in terms of his guitar playing - he's never been a particularly proficient guitarist, but I thought he did himself proud. And I love a well-chosen cover, so I don't mind that at all, especially next to some of the brilliant stuff from Into the Wild.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more. I saw three of the solo shows last summer, and they were fantastic (though the Milwaukee show was a bit rough because of a drunken rowdy crowd). I agree that it's pricey, and I won't be going out of my way to catch this tour, but I'm definitely glad I saw him last time around.

Mulch and something...

That's City Hall. I agree, bakerian - Milwaukee's great. I grew up near there, but never really appreciated it until I moved away.

The Felice Brothers - Yonder Is The Clock

last week's myspace bulletin from Simone: -
Night 1 was amazing. I didn't think the crowd was noisy at all, and I'd even forgotten my earplugs, which usually bring crowd chatter down to a tolerable level The band was playing fast and loose and clearly having a great time; Jeff and Pat were especially hilarious. LOVED, loved loved the setlist, the new songs with full band, and frankly one of the best versions of "Theologians" I've ever heard.
-
I agree. The extent of the overlap between Night 1 and Night 2 was really surprising. To me, it sounded like the band was playing a "safer" set the second night. It seemed as if they were really concentrating on making it a technically clean performance, maybe because they knew it was being webcast?

Two tickets for the Friday, April 10 Andrew Bird show at the Civic Opera House. Seats are main floor, right center, row D (third row!) on the center aisle. Face value, which is $90 for the pair. (shoot...is this Wilco-related enough? Mods, feel free to delete if it isn't...don't mean to step on any toes).

Don't get me wrong, it'd clearly add up to more than $80 if you went to see each of those bands separately, but for a summer street festival I think that's kind of pricey, unless a lot more bands are added. -

For a block party? Yeah. Pitchfork is $75 for three days and that's like 40 bands. And even something like Lolla might cost twice as much, but you're certainly getting twice as much bang for your buck, too. -

Wow. I may have to take advantage of those cheap Southwest fares and visit my Minneapolis friends that weekend... How many bands are typically added? $70 seems a little steep for the 2-day pass. -
Got it. Thanks!

Aaaand this. I'd love to hear a Neff song or two on the new record instead.

This. Nice article; thanks for posting!
