A day late, but I saw Cedric Burnside and Mavis Staples at the Baton Rouge Blues Festival yesterday. For free!

For anyone who's been listening to it, there's a new episode of R U Talkin' R.E.M. RE: ME? (the podcast hosted by Adam Scott and Scott Aukerman). Mike Mills is the guest and said he plans to release a solo album at some point. https://www.earwolf.com/show/u-talkin-u2-to-me/

Failed lawyer. At least as of right now. I'm honest, which hasn't helped.

Here's a good article from The Ringer in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the release of Reckoning. https://www.theringer.com/music/2019/4/9/18300837/rem-reckoning-35th-anniversary-mega-post

I want a copy, and I don't even have a turntable. "Warm" is my favorite work of Jeff's in quite some time, and I really dig what I've heard from "Warmer." I'd rather have a CD, but it probably won't matter because I know I won't wake up early enough on Saturday.

This won't be the Braves' year, but locking up Ronald Acuna, Jr. for through his 20s is a great cornerstone (along with Freddie Freeman) to a pennant-winning team. Today was a good day for the Braves and their fans.

A day late, but I saw sets by Low Cut Connie and The War and Treaty yesterday at Hogs for the Cause in NOLA. Those are the only two sets I caught this weekend, but they were absolutely incredible. Their recorded output didn't do a lot for me, but live both are so freaking good.

Union is streaming at Garden & Gun's website.

Sadly I agree with you. I felt that the only thing keeping him from a second term would have been impeachment. I didn't think there would be enough to impeach, and yesterday's news confirmed that. What has this country become?

I'm not even into vinyl and I want a copy of this. And you're right - there are a lot of great offerings for this year's RSD.

Mountain Man with future Solid Sound performer Jake Xerxes Fussell. If I can make it to a Monday night show.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not a big fan of musicals, but Hamilton is brilliant. I'm a history nerd, so it was especially enjoyable. Most of the time musicals and plays don't live up to the hype for me. I didn't care much for The Book of Mormon. But Hamilton is outstanding.
