Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to all!
Boss_Tweedy replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Merry Christmas, fellow VC'ers! Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season and love, health, and happiness in the new year. -
Just started watching the Ken Burns series on Vietnam. Three episodes in and I'm loving it. I'm a total history nerd, so it's right up my alley. Plus I've enjoyed all of his prior work. Also saw "Green Book" a few nights ago. Viggo Mortensen is incredible, and the movie is pretty solid. I wasn't familiar with the people on whom the movie is based.

I'd like to add "Benton County Relic" by Cedric Burnside on my list. Just heard the album today and am loving it.

Very happy for an old favorite, The Cure. I'm not as into their music as I was 20-plus years ago, but they're still a sentimental fav. Saw them live two nights in NOLA a couple of years, and Bob Smith and Co. still bring it.

I liked it though I agree it's kinda uneven. I didn't notice the format changes though. Just finished watching "I Called Him Morgan," the documentary about jazz musician Lee Morgan and his murder. Very interesting and well-constructed film.

New Jeff Tweedy album November 30th (called WARM)
Boss_Tweedy replied to Oil Can Boyd's topic in Just A Fan
I'm loving the twang throughout the album. I hear bits of Uncle Tupelo and "Being There" era Wilco. After four listens "Don't Forget" may be my favorite song, but that may change. I need to study the lyrics at some point soon. -

I'm still waiting for my copy, so I haven't listened to the whole album yet. Not sure if this has already been posted here, but there's a lengthy interview/discussion between Jeff and George Saunders over at GQ.com: https://www.gq.com/story/jeff-tweedy-george-saunders-epic-conversation -

When I logged on to buy tickets to Birmingham, I kept getting bumped out of seats until it showed that the theater was sold out. I refreshed repeatedly for a few minutes and managed to score three tix on the front row to the right of the stage. Huge sigh of relief!

I saw Wilco open for R.E.M. at Red Rocks in '03. Yesterday was the tenth anniversary of R.E.M.'s last ever concert. So hard to believe. I miss 'em too.

Saw "Wildlife" last night. It's based on the book by Richard Ford. Excellent acting and a well-done movie.
