It's a b-side on "Be Mine," one of the singles from "New Adventures in Hi Fi." There's also a short video of Michael and Mike rehearsing "Galveston." I wish I could find a proper performance of this song by the band. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3bl-EtPxM8

Although everyone knew it was coming, it's still very sad. Even his last album, on which he could no longer play guitar, is very good. Godspeed to the Rhinestone Cowboy.

As someone whose father is in his declining years and is dealing with several serious health problems, I can empathize. Thoughts & prayers to the Tweedy family...

I've loved "I'll Take The Rain" since the first time I heard it. Good call.

There's no way 21 of their songs are better than "I Believe."

That's an unexpected surprise. In a very good way.

Dave Rosser died. The band played several benefit shows for him last fall. Bummer. http://www.npr.org/sections/therecord/2017/06/28/534746943/dave-rosser-guitarist-for-the-afghan-whigs-dies-at-50

They're a band from New Orleans that plays an interesting combination of alt-country and 60's soul (though that part of their sound is more subtle). I discovered them at a tiny club at a late-night show after Jazz Fest a few years ago. They were better to me than any act I'd seen at Jazz Fest that year. How these guys came from New Orleans with this sound is mind-boggling...in a good way. I can't remember, but I think they covered an Otis Redding or Marvin Gaye that night and made work.
