Such a huge loss for the music world. Godspeed.

I've listened to it a couple of times and think it's solid (as is every album they make). I actually feel that the title song is the weakest track. I do miss the heavy guitars that are less prominent in this release, but for a band to be as consistently good as they are while at the same time evolving over time is pretty incredible.

The new Spoon record, "Hot Thoughts." Good stuff as always from them.

What a night. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band kicked things off with a set of their own that lasted about 45-50 minutes. Really good stuff, including what I presume to be some new material with a Latin sound. I read that the band traveled to Cuba last year and that their next album will be influenced by that trip. After about a 15-minute break Neko and her band (including Kelly Hogan) hit the stage. Neko played some songs from her more country-sounding days as well as plenty of newer stuff. I'm hoping a setlist will be published online, but I remember she played "I Wish I Was The Moon," "Ma

"Shake Em On Down," a great documentary on bluesman Mississippi Fred McDowell. It's currently streaming on PBS's website. Well worth 60 minutes of your time. http://www.pbs.org/video/2365929363/

That's a lot of Dr. John.

I don't know much about them. In fact, I learned about them through VC. I do like both versions of In Between. Good listening for an early spring afternoon.

Just want to say to all who are fortunate enough to be attending that I hope y'all have a blast. I'll be there with you in spirit.

I tried to whittle it down last night, and this year it's tough to do. They're all very good movies. If I had to pick the one that impacted me the most emotionally, I'd pick "Hacksaw Ridge." As for my favorite among them, I don't think I have one. There really wasn't one that stood out as being better than the rest. I could probably pick three or four that I'd most like to see again: "Arrival," Hell or High Water," "Hidden Figures" and "Hacksaw Ridge." Maybe that's a testament to the quality of this year's nominees. If I was a betting man my money would be on "Moonlight" because of its story

Just watched "Manchester by the Sea." Very long but very good film. Now I've seen all of this year's best picture nominees.
