  1. I wonder if there's any chance that they'll do a series of winter residency shows in Chicago. I'd make a trip for that. I've been trying to find a job in Chicago so I can move up there, so I'm looking for any excuse to visit.
  2. This year can't be over soon enough.
  3. Listening to the new one streaming now. Solid. I tend to lean toward Mike Cooley's offerings, so I'm partial to his songs on this one.
  4. Bumping this because I'm hoping to see Alejandro for the first time this week in NOLA. Any suggestions for his best album(s) to listen to and/or pick up?
  5. Five years ago today they said goodbye.
  6. Past my bedtime, so I'll have to catch it the next morning on the interwebs.
  7. I've listened to the album about five times. "If I Ever Was a Child" and "Someone to Lose" are still among my favorites. I've really liked both songs from the time they were released. My other early favorites are "Cry All Day," "Nope," and "Just Say Goodbye." 8. These albums, particularly some of the songs from the "Tweedy" album and "Schmilco," couldn't have come at a better time for me. My dad was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's lymphoma around the same time as Susan's diagnosis, and he was initially given 2-3 months to live. Then I lost a good college friend in November of 2014 to melanoma. A few months before the surprise release of "Star Wars," we received a bigger surprise - that my dad's cancer was in remission. Lots of big changes as I've hit middle age, and these songs have really been comforting.
  9. Just finishing my first listen. I'm not an audiophile, and I'm listening to the MP3s on my laptop with earbuds. Still, it really is a nice album from start to finish. I don't love every song, but I'm sure my tastes will change with additional listens.
  10. My CD copy arrived yesterday. Wish I'd known they'd be offering signed versions for sale before I pre-ordered, but oh, well. Very much looking forward to spending time with this record during the fall. New Wilco, college football & cooler temps (hopefully). I love this time of year.
