  1. Night two was again solid (not that I expected it not to be given how great the band is), but night one was probably my favorite. The crowd around me (toward the back because I arrived a little later than expected) was pretty chatty. I was hoping to meet a few VC'ers while in Atlanta, but it didn't happen. That'll probably be the last of my Wilco experiences this year because they just played NOLA last fall. I think I preferred that show to either of the Atlanta shows (it was actually one of the best Wilco shows I've ever seen), but I still had a fun time in Atlanta. For lagniappe I had a chan
  2. Despite having my Wilco cap grabbed (which I already discussed in a previous post), I thought it was a solid show. No big surprises other than the Bowie cover to end it (which I really enjoyed). As a fan since day one, I always prefer sets that include more material from A.M. and Being There. Wednesday's set was short on those two. I was on the floor, not far from the front. I'd kinda hoped for more banter with the audience, but I didn't really expect it. Overall a very entertaining show from a band that's at the top of its game in terms of performing live. And I love The Tabernacle. It had be
  3. Just want to update this thread because I bought a copy of the book at last night's Atlanta show. It really is a very nice, well-made book. I looked through the sample copy last night and saw at least one great black & white pic of Jeff; so I'm sure there are other pics of band members as well. Now I just have to get lucky enough to meet Jeff, et al. to have them sign it. Probably won't happen but a man can dream.
  4. It may have fallen out, but it wasn't during the show. I had it just a few moments before we exited the Tabernacle. But like you said, either way it sucks.
  5. Yeah. I doubt I'll buy anything to replace it. I spent enough money to get here. Flew from New Orleans, bought tix for both nights & and am paying for food & drink while here. Tonight's show was phenomenal because of the band, but this definitely puts a damper on the experience.
  6. Really sucks. I know it's just a hat, but it was my hat and can't be replaced. They're no longer available in the shop. I'll be at tomorrow night's show, but I'm not holding my breath about it turning up in lost & found.
  7. I'm sure nobody here is responsible..:but still very lame.
  8. I might be. Not sure yet though because I'm liable to spontaneously do something else while visiting Atlanta.
  9. Bully at Gasa Gasa, an awesome little club in New Orleans. Been looking forward to this one for a while.
  10. Looking forward to both Atlanta shows. I might bring my poster from last fall's show in NOLA with the hope of meeting some of the band members and having them sign it early in the day. Hope also to meet any of y'all who will be there.
  11. Yep! Got general admission floor tix for both NOLA shows. I saw them in NOLA in 1996, and it's still the best show I've ever seen. I'm not nearly the fan I once was, but for nostalgia's sake I'm looking forward to seeing them again.
  12. I'd love to see them at Jazz Fest but not along with 500,000 people.
  13. I would like to see Mavis, Gary Clark, Jr., Elvis Costello, and Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. Possibly the biggest for me on the list are Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. Actual jazz at Jazz Fest!
  14. http://lineup.nojazzfest.com Solid lineup, but I may skip this year. No Wilco. No Decemberists. And the crowd size has gotten obnoxious. I wish they'd cap the number of daily tickets sold.
  15. I'll be at both Atlanta shows next month and hope to meet any of you who will also be there. I'll probably start another message string as the shows get closer.
  16. Getting ready to start that one myself.
