Just started watching "Boardwalk Empire." Really liking it through the first five episodes.

Such a great and beautiful country. The people are wonderfully nice, too. I went for a few days while in London for a college semester many moons ago; and I, too would love to go back some day.

I'm a baseball nut. About 10 years ago I decided to take in a game at every MLB stadium. I knew it would be a goal which would take years to accomplish. This summer I passed the halfway point, hitting numbers 15 and 16 while in Oakland and San Francisco. There are a lot of other places in the world I want to see, but baseball was one of the first loves in my life. I discovered the game when I was seven, played it as long as a team would have me (not very long), and have followed it avidly for over 30 years.

How was the show? Tix for his NOLA shows in November go on sale this Wednesday, and I'm strongly considering buying one.

As a Braves fan I'm elated that the organization was able to extricate itself from CJ's contract. He had one good season after being traded to Atlanta, and Frank Wren threw way too much money in his direction (one of many reasons why Frank Wren is no longer with the club). I don't think we'll get much out of Swisher and Bourn, but the ends justify the means. We're not going anywhere for a couple of years anyway.

I'm hearing some noise down south that the Braves may make a push for Price during the offseason. I'll believe it when the ink is dry, but in the meantime I'll salivate over the possibility. On an unrelated note, I took in games in Oakland and San Francisco while in Northern California about a week ago. The Coliseum in Oakland is, well, sad. A team as consistently scrappy as the A's deserves a better venue. As for AT&T Park, that place is as close to ballpark perfection as I've ever seen.

Can't go wrong with a Mississippi writer. "On The Road" by Jack Kerouac. I've never read it, so it seemed apropos to pick up a copy while visiting City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco recently.

Not sure what happened, but the best I could get were second balcony seats for the NOLA show. Kinda bummed.

I spent a couple of days away from "Star Wars" and find it just as good (maybe even better) than I did upon first reaction. And my first reaction was that I liked it a lot.

I'm officially in for both days despite their announcement of a NOLA show on Monday September 28. I'll fly home on Monday afternoon to (hopefully) catch their show at the Orpheum.

I think I may also be in the same boat.
