  1. Not sure what happened, but the best I could get were second balcony seats for the NOLA show. Kinda bummed.
  2. I spent a couple of days away from "Star Wars" and find it just as good (maybe even better) than I did upon first reaction. And my first reaction was that I liked it a lot.
  3. I'm officially in for both days despite their announcement of a NOLA show on Monday September 28. I'll fly home on Monday afternoon to (hopefully) catch their show at the Orpheum.
  4. I think I may also be in the same boat.
  5. For those of us who already have a Crowdsurge account, do we have to register for something new? Anybody know?
  6. I think they like it: http://www.avclub.com/review/wilcos-star-wars-roughhewn-fuzzed-out-blast-222533
  7. Dang. I'll be in the air when the pre-sale starts for the NOLA show.
  8. From last night: Old Crow Medicine Show & the Avett Brothers
  9. Just pre-ordered the CD. I want one of those drawing prizes! Fingers crossed...
  10. Just one listen in for me, and that will probably be it because I'm fading quickly. My immediate impression is that this is a very solid album. Not a single-heavy record, but that's totally OK. It works better in its entirety. I really like it, I will probably like it more with additional listens, and I'm glad they chose to go in a different direction with their sound. And a huge "thank you" to the band for releasing this free and by surprise. What an unexpected treat!
  11. Must be. I also submitted my Yahoo address.
  12. How long does it take to receive the e-mail with the download link? It's been well over 30 minutes since I submitted my e-mail address.
  13. Just saw Water Liars at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in NOLA. Left with two of their CDs and will definitely catch them the next time they're down this way.
  14. There's a bundle which includes notecards. Not sure why, but I'm unable to post links via my work computer. Otherwise I'd provide a link to the book on the band's site.
  15. I thought it was a solid show. His voice was surprisingly good given his age, and his band was really tight. The video shown when he played "Meat Is Murder" was unsettling, and I wish he'd played more than one song during the encore. One interesting thing is that he may be the first musician on his scale who offered none of his music for sale at the show. At least I didn't see any. Here are links to a couple of articles on the show from the local paper: http://www.nola.com/music/index.ssf/2015/06/morrisseys_us_tour_opener_at_t.html http://www.nola.com/music/index.ssf/2015/06/morrisseys_cha
  16. Morrissey at the Saenger in NOLA.
  17. Still hoping for a proper NOLA show, but it looks like I'll have to settle for the Pilgrimage Music Festival in Franklin, TN.
  18. Uncle Tupelo's "Anodyne" is top notch in my book. Sentimentally (because R.E.M. is my favorite all-time band), and because it's an underrated album which too few people heard, I I'll also agree about "Collapse Into Now." I know they weren't the same after Bill Berry retired, but I miss that band.
  19. You're gonna want to click on the link below & make sure the sound on your computer is on. http://www.bbkingmuseum.org/in-memoriam
  20. This album gets better with each listen, and if I had to vote today it would be my album of the year.
