  2. I'm a "real" Dylan fan and I would put Modern Times alongside any other disc Dylan has released. It's a classic in my book and I like it TONS more than L & T. For the singing alone, it should be praised by Dylan fanatics. "Beyond the Horizen" has become one of my all time favorites. I would have loved to hear Sinatra try that one....
  3. Hands down, it's Nico singing "These Days". Also, Bob Dylan-Tomorrow is a Long Time Fleetwood Mac-Beautiful Child Bauhaus-All We Ever Wanted Was Everything The Church-It's No Reason Wilco-Via Chicago Johnny Cash singing-If you Could Read My Mind
  4. Genesis?? Worst reunion of all time!! Who is going to care about this?? It might be interesting to hear how those Brother Bear and Tarzan songs sound with Rutherford rocking them out.... Damn, thought Sweet were getting back together.....
  5. I loved her last CD, but this one I find impossible to sit through. The strings just kill it for me. The whole thing just doesn't work, IMO. These songs would be much better they were just her and the harp. Very disappointing release...
  6. I don't even know where to start...thanks for posting this. The guy is never boring, that's for sure.
  7. I don't think I've ever heard one song by Death Cab before, but I love their version of that song. That is one of my fav Band tunes so I was very skeptical but I think it's great. The MMJ and Hornsby cuts kick ass too. Now Gomez is one band I cannot stand.....
  8. I think Ryan even types like that. Must be some hidden fan language...
  9. That would have been Patti Smith, but yeah Chrissie was the real deal. I still would leave my wife for her....
  10. That board really is rough to read. I don't think it even has a search function by user. The Ryan Adams Archive is much better for just the straight news. Plus, they have torrents there! So, do we have a clue what post caused this to occur?
  11. I'm sorry but this disc is horrible. Another "product" duets release. The songs sound like The Killer was not even in the same country as the other artists, let alone the same studio.
  12. Wasn't this '79? How did we forget: David Bowie-Scary Monsters Pete Townshend-All the Best Cowboys... New Order-Low Life The Camber Van Beethovan collection Buthole Surfers-Hairway to Steven Michelle Shocked-The Texas Campfire Tapes The Church-Starfish Fleetwood Mac-Tusk John Lennon/Yoko Ono-Double Fantacy Peter Gabriel-III The Police-Zenyatta Mondatta
  13. Sinead O'Conner-Lion and the Cobra Husker Du-Zen Arcade Jane's Addiction-Nothing's Shocking The Cure-Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me Bauhaus-The Sky's Gone Out The Waterboys-This is the Sea Nirvana-Bleech
  14. He does it all. I think only one song even has "drums". Very mellow disc. Lots of wispered vocals and layered guitar. For die hard fans only, me thinks....
  15. I love the Mac and Tusk is in my top 10 albums of all time. I really wish Lindsey worked a little faster and got out of his basement a bit more!! I'm liking the new disc a lot. Much more laid back affair then Out of the Cradle.
  16. Any Lindsey fans here? Oink, oink! This new disc is one of the best "sounding" discs I've ever heard, even from a 320kb rip. The vocals and guitar sound like he is in the room with you live. Hard to explain. Very three-dimentional sound to the whole thing. It is ear candy for sure. I think he is one of the most underrated musicians of all time. Give it a spin!
  17. Aged badly is just another term for "you are older now". I mean, I can't get through Zeppelin IV anymore but why would it be any less of a album?? It just means I'm older, my tastes have changed, and I don't get stoned anymore.
  18. You couldn't be more wrong, but oh well....
  19. What I meant was that you never knew what a new Yo La Tengo disc was going to sound like. The new one sounds very familiar to me, as if I've heard it all before. Now, with as many discs as Yo La have have released, this was inevitable and it doesn't mean the disc isn't fantastic.
  20. That last Son Volt disc blew away anything Farrar has done post-Tupelo. What exactly don't people like about Melody of Riot?? To me it is just a perfect disc.
  21. I really like it a lot. The only issue I have with it is that Yo La has been around so long, this disc sort of feels like, "been there done that". I'm trying not to think about it when I listen to it but at least with Summer Sun, it didn't sound like any of their previous material. This disc sounds like everything they do great thrown into a pot.
  22. Go to Tour Tracker and listen to the song "Brooklyn". That certainly doesn't suck. Is that a new track??
  23. You need to give this more than a few listens. Another Dylan classic for sure. I may actually like it beter than Love and Theft.
