I do not have ITunes nor want to load it. Can I pay someone 99 cents for a PM of this tune? PLEASE??

I can't believe Garrison is a Deadhead!! Cool.

Great interview. THANK YOU!!

Sorry, but I totally disagree with this. Who rocked harder than the Pumpkins?? They were ALL about the rock. All those newer bands you mentioned sound exactly like the Pumpkins, not the other way around. He influenced THEM. Yes, we know Billy can write pretty, softer stuff but look what his "fans" did to them when he tried that (Adore/Future Inbrace). Now that most of his fans are older, I do think it will be a shame if all the new disc displays is the screaming angst thing but it seems to be working for Trent Rezner so what do I know. I still think The Pumpkins were the most talented ba

Pitchfork lost any credibility when they picked discs by "And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of The Dead" and "The Rapture" as their consecutive discs of the year. Seriously people, with all the great blogs and access to fan news why does anyone read their crappy site anymore??
-
I know I am in the minority, but I heard the Self Titled disc first and fell madly in love with it. I have had a much harder time getting into YFIP. I don't find it nearly as interesting...

Sounds exactly like every other NIN disc. I'm really disappointed Rezner never branched out his sound a bit. They guy is obviously so talented it pisses me off that he keeps putting out music that all sounds exactly the same. And now it's starting to sound just like a bad NIN impersonation. Am I the only one who feels Trent wasted his talent? Maybe I'm just old....

I saw that movie and it really made me want to check out BJM's music since people called him a genius for the whole thing. Having heard a bunch of their music I cannot for the life of me figure out what those people are talking about. Poor singing and totally derivitive music.

Pretty sure "29" came out in 2005....
-
I can't wait to hear this live. It should shread.
-
Anyone else think the mix on this is horrible. No bass at all. Things just sound...not right.
-
Well..you just lost any credibility you had. That was by far the best disc released by anyone last year (ok, TV on the Radio kicked ass too). What is there not to like about Modern Times. Brilliant lyrics and some of his best singing on record. "Spirit on the Water" may be his best vocal performance ever!
-
As a huge Deadhead, I wish Ryan would stop trying to sound like them. He is better just being himself IMO. I did love Cold Roses but now everything he plays sounds like The Dead. I hope the rest of the disc is a bit more..well Ryan.

Jann Wenner may be the worst interviewer on the planet. WTF were those "questions"? I can not believe he let the guy that wrote "I Believe in You" and "Saved" off the hook so easily on the religion stuff. How about quoting some Dylan lyrics to back up your questions?? Man, give me 10 minutes to interview Bob. Sorry, but Wenner's "questions" ruined what could gave been a cool interview. I'm surprise Bob hung in there as long as he did...

I will never understand people bitching about seated venues. In the 60's and early 70's most rock shows were seated. Do you think Dylan or Zep at Royal Albert Hall would have been better shows if the audiences were standing. I just don't see what difference sitting or standing makes to anyone, especially for the kind of music Wilco plays.
-
Yeah, because in whatever world you live in apparently many bands make songs like "You Are My Face". Let's just take that song for example....what song or who else does that sound like?? The answer is no one but Wilco and it also doesn't sound like anything the band has ever done. I love that track!! I think this is their most "experimental" disc yet depending on how you want to define that term. Was YHF experimental because it had sound effects and tape loops on it?? For Wilco maybe, but not for many other bands. But who else could make a disc as beautiful as Sky Blue Sky??

Wow, Modern Times is so much beter than Infidels in every way. Also, I can't believe people are ripping on his voice. His singing on "Spirit on the Water" rivals anything he has commited to record. I LOVE the vocals on Modern Times. You guys know he is older and stuff, right?
-
Are we sure that isn't a joke? There is no way this is for real. What's next, Bauhaus Butt Wipes??

Wilco Rickie Lee Jones Lucinda Williams

It is sooo good! I promise.

I never understood what the difference is in ripping. I mean, if I use EAC or Nero to convert to the exact same format and bitrate, what difference does it make?
-
I was a bit harsh on the pig-rip at first because it sounded so similar to the stream version I have. I finally listened to it on a really good system and it sounds much more dimentional than the stream version. The bass is more prominant (GREAT bass on this disc BTW) and the stereo separation is much better. Worth the download if you ask me.
