  1. It's interesting that Lemmy was kicked out of Hawkwind not because he was doing too many drugs, but because he was doing the wrong kind from everyone else in the band. I do love the Motorhead album "1916".
  2. Wow, that's a life changing moment for a kid. Cool story.
  3. He hung out at the Cavern club when the Beatles were there, dropped acid in the 60's at the London Scene with the Beatles and Floyd, was a Roadie for Jimi Hendrix. The guy has had a life.
  4. There are some albums I often go back to that I don't here much about: Arc Angels - Arc Angels Robbie Robertson - Robbie Robertson Dada - Puzzle Robin Trower - Victims of the Fury Maybe Robin Trower would be my choice for an underappreciated artist.
  5. Oops, I really need to pay attention more.
  6. I wondered if that was Phil talking, I figured it was. I like the "I guess you don't want to be good ladies and gentlemen" or something like that. I was impressed with the sound quality and the songs. Thanks everyone for the help on identifying this show. Now I need to get dialed in on where to start getting copies of all these.
  7. Wow, I grew up on Lou Christie as my dad used to crank it fairly often. Used to annoy me but now I have a soft spot for it.
  8. You seem to have forgotten the Replacements.
  9. You summed this up perfectly for me. At times it's flat out annoying but there is some funny dialogue and moments that really make me laugh and keep me going back. And boobs, always the boobs.
  10. There's about 10 minutes of them trying to clear people out of the aisles so that's why I was curious. Plus I really like it.
  11. 12/01/73 playing on GDradio right now sounds really good. Only problem I see is that it does not say on the site where the show was recorded (that I can find). Then I went to Dead.net and 1973 seems to be missing in the archive section. What gives?
  12. RE: Californication I just finished season 1 of this. It was much better than I expected. The large amount of female nudity in no way biased me.
  13. That's a beautiful Heritage guitar. I have a friend that just bought a Les Paul from there and he swears by it.
  14. When I think of the 90's, for me it's Nirvana and Pavement that I remember listening to the most so I'm going with that.
  15. The first Tin Machine is yet another one I only own on cassette so never really listen to anymore. I regret never getting to see them in concert. Only time I have seen Bowie was Glass Spider which was pretty bad. I just remember cranking the holy living hell out of "Crack City" and trying to figure out how to play it. I'm a big fan of Reeves' guitar style.
  16. Geez, I swear I looked there. Oh well. Thanks A-man.
  17. This album may be great (don't know as I have only heard a few songs) but not sure why "challenging" records with more weird noises and strange sounds is somehow "cooler" than something more accessible like "In Rainbows" or "Wilco (the album)". I know that's not what everybody is saying but the subject always comes up. I'm fairly certain that if Wilco had put out a version of the last album with weird noises and screetches but kept the lyrics and vocals the same, some people would have said it was the greatest thing ever recorded.
