Went with AGIB but like most people it changes based on mood or whatever. Went through a big Summerteeth phase a month ago.

As I'm reading Chronicles I'm listening to the albums he is talking about. I'm at the part about recording "Oh Mercy". I don't really know where that album stands in the pantheon for Dylan fans but I have always like it and it seems to be aging fairly well.

I'm getting too old to go to a show where I'm going to take a Doc Martin to the cranium but those are some damn nice pictures. Did you take them?

I knew I was going to get called on the "intellectually inferior" thing. I don't think it came across right though. I enjoy a complex read. The sound and the fury is one of my favorite books. I don't think an author writing a difficult book is trying to be "intellectually superior" or anything. My only point was that at the end of the day, when I hear someone say how much they enjoyed "Gravity's rainbow" and I read it and have no idea what the hell is even going on. It makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with me. I consider myself a reasonably smart person but I don't feel that way w

Like she walked right out of a John Waters film.

Thanks for the info, that actually sounds like it could be interesting!

No kidding? Hmmm, trying to picture it... Not sure who I would have cast but it probably would not have been him. Maybe Gene Hackman, he's always good. Just kidding. For some reason I'm drawing a blank on a good young actor that would work in this part.

Ringo is so under rated, but that is kind of funny even though I don't condone it!

Ultimate Sin was really the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning. That album was decent but everything after has been crap. Would have been interesting had Randy Rhodes lived but he probably would have not lasted much longer in the band. Sounds like he was more into classical guitar. What's the Heaven and Hell album? An expanded addition or remix or something?

These are pretty darn good. I'm sure will be a movie someday.

I have been searching and trying to find who the hell is in Bob's current band and I can't find shite. Analogman? Somebody?

I'm liking the new album more and more actually. I have never seen U2 in concert before. Growing up in Colorado I have a lot of friends that were at the famous foggy Red Rocks show way back when and I have to hear about it all the time. Bastards.

With a steady diet lately of Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Blitzen Trapper, it would sure be nice to have the Crowes come out with a rocking "Amorica" type album but I suppose those days are gone. I will have to get my good old rock fix somewhere else.

Getting rid of Desmond Child's evil influence can only help but can't say I'm too excited about the news.

You don't get much better than gimme shelter in my opinion. But they were never, ever, better than the Beatles.

Just read the part in Dylan's chronicles where Dylan and Crosby go to Princeton to pick up Dylan's honorary degree. He said something along the likes of Crosby not getting along with many people but he liked him. He does have an amazing voice. What blows me away about Crosby is his ability to hit that middle harmony to where his voice almost disappears in the mix. It's pretty easy to pick out Stills and Nash. Hitting that middles 3rd is a very difficult thing to do and he is about as good as it gets. Amazing voice. I love the early CSNY stuff.

Sounded thin and trebly to me. Wait, I'm listening through my little laptop speakers.

Did you write that?

That is a good answer. Yeah I searched my soul and went with Exile because it does seem to be the one I listen to the most. somehow my heart said Sticky Fingers though.

oops. I did not realize FACE was being used as an acronym. Thanks for the splaining.

Thanks! It is blowing my mind. I'll probably stand there in a paralysis and not even know how to start. All I did was complete some trivia quesiontaire on "Operational Excellence" (our latest corporate buzzword). Minimal work, maximum reward. I was serious about taking everybody's suggestions. Between this thread and the "Greatest books of all time" thread I am set so thanks to everybody for that!

Turning out to be a great day! Just won a $500 gift certificate to Borders here at work. I think I will just compile everybody's recommendations from this thread and go nuts!
