I would be a little worried about them without Jim Martin because I think he pushed them farther into the heavy rock category where I think they were best. A song like "Midlife Crisis" worked well with that heavy guitar "Your perfect yes it's true..." part.

Pretty much all of Blood on the Tracks is in Open D from what I remember. Dylans open tunings phase. Makes it a bitch to figure them out. Paul Westerberg does everything in open tunings it seems like.

On it's own, pretty weak. But it fit quite nicely in the Cirque de Solei show which I think was the point.

That is a great song. When I saw Pearl Jam way back when, before that song was even released, Eddie Vedder came out and did a solo acoustic version of that song. Obviously he got a leaked copy.

Saw them in the early 90's with a ton of other bands. One of those all day radio shows "Live 105" did in the bay area. Beck and Green day were there as well before they were really big. Those three bands just killed it.
