  1. I agree and I hate the argument that "those stupid people deserve what they got". There are busy working people that don't have time or don't want to spend their free time reading the WSJ. They assume someone like Cramer has done some reasearch and is not out to lose them money. It's not that they were following him like sheep but there was a sense of trust that he knew more than them and might be a good source of info. Naive yes, but not all people are as jaded and cynical as some of us.
  2. Are you thinking of That was a good book and was similar to what you are talking about although I hope this is not a spoiler.
  3. That interview just seemed like the most honest thing I have heard in such a sea of BS about the whole Crisis. And it was on Comedy Central.
  4. Wow, missing the Mats. That one would be personally painful to me, I never got to see them.
  5. Boy did that feel good to watch. He dropped a few appropriate F-bombs. Wow, that was some damning video he had of Jim Cramer. Good old Neon makes a great point. Why can't we see an interview like that on Meet the Press instead of the hour of ass kissing you get now. Stewart sure has an articulate way of making someone look bad.
  6. Bon Iver Mazzy Star Pink Floyd - Echoes
  7. Tomorrow never knows - Beatles Ah Via Musicom - Eric Johnson (I think)
  8. Yep. I have no problem going alone.
  9. SRV about 10 times. Neil Young about 6 times. Pearl Jam 5 times.
  10. I'm going to agree with that.
  11. That was my favorite part of the movie. That guy was running around more excited about the kill screen then he will be when he finally manages to get some tail.
  12. Damn Solace, I swear you have to be making some of these bands up. There are not enough hours in the day to both discover and listen to all of these! I love hearing about them though, even if I never get around to listening.
  13. Ooh, good one! Saw them with Ted Zeppelin opening (played nothing but Zep and Nugent covers - Crowd ate that up). The place was one giant mosh pit from the minute they started playing. One of those things where the crowd just surges around the room. One minute your in front of the stage, the next you are back by the bathroom and then back in front again. I left covered in Beer, sweat, and god knows what else but it was actually an amazing show.

    Elvis

I can't imagine watching the 68 comeback special and not thinking Elvis was an enourmouly gifted musician. I would like to have seen more stripped down stuff from him after that but he became much more Vegas.
  15. Pearl Jam - But Neil Young came out and played with Pearl Jam (no Eddie) so not sure if that counts. Dada - Drove all the way there only to find a sign on the door saying the guitar player had broken his arm. The Sundays - Won tickets on a radio station, didn't feel like going. (pretty lame I know). First Lolapalooza - Had a conflict so I got there late, saw about 3 songs by Jane's addiction, then had to leave. Can't even remember what the conflict was so how important could it have been? Probalby some lame work BS. Idiot!
  16. They are touring right now so you may get the chance. Aerosmith is a good one. I made the mistake of seeing them without Joe Perry (the Jimmy Crespo years) and it was not good.
  17. Neil Young with Book T was an amazing show. Radiohead is a band I still have not seen. Still no Drive by Truckers yet either. 2 bands I must see someday.
  18. I saw REM twice, once in the 80's (Fables tour) and once in the 90's (Monster tour) and neither of them were spectacular. Maybe just bad luck? I still love the band.

    Elvis

I remember where I was when he died also but it was because my mom was crying. That was not something I saw often. I also Love Elvis but rarely listen to him. When I do it's stuff like "Mystery Train" and "Baby let's play house" although I have been known to crank "Suspicious Minds" on occasion.
  20. RE: Brian Jonestown Massacre: I guess I should have expected it based on reputation but it was one good song followed by 20 minutes of making stupid comments and fighting with people in the crowd, followed by another good song, followed by 20 more minutes of jawing with the crowd. And instead of tuning at the same time he would argue with people, say inane stuff for 20 minutes, then proceed to start tuning his guitar. Then there was an interminable (felt like an hour) of them just making feedback noises with their amps until many of us left. Never again.
  21. I should really think about this first but screw it: Wilco Guided by voices Gang of Four Paul Westerberg Pearl Jam
