  1. I knew I could count on you. These are good. Would never have thought of Theramin, never heard of Licklider, Bob Dylan and Les Paul came to mind already and are good choices.
  2. Gimme Shelter - Love that spooky intro riff with the "oooohhhhs", then the drums kick in.
  3. Yeah, somewhere along the lines he became a douche bag or at least I realized it. I said above the canyon walls Strong eyes did glow It was the leader of the clan Oh my god The great white buffalo Look out. All from memory baby.
  4. Normally I would not ask something like this but there is a large group of very intelligent people here. My daughter has to write about a "Person who changed the world" and I would like to figure out an interesting person that most people would not have thought about. No MLK or Gandhi or whatever, something a little more off the wall. She just did a report on Joe Strummer so that one is out but everything else is game on.
  5. This would be the thread for it but I do still like "Great White Buffalo". A holdover from my youth when I thought the Nuge was "cool".
  6. Yeah, then maybe we can get Chelsea Clinton in there for awhile until Jenna Bush gets her politics bug on.
  7. And yes, I'm too computer illiterate to figure out why it's reduced in size. It's Comets on Fire. I suppose somewhere in the vast archive of information I could learn what the hell I am doing.
  8. I don't really know anybody that likes him yet he is huge. Are his fans older or younger? Male or Female? Must be people I don't interact with much.
  9. And then the name Jeb Bush comes up the other day. Suddenly we are a socialist Monarchy. On a much lighter note, love this video:
  10. Good riddance. To quote another Dylan song: And I hope that you die And your death'll come soon I will follow your casket In the pale afternoon And I'll watch while you're lowered Down to your deathbed And I'll stand o'er your grave 'Til I'm sure that you're dead
  11. Never been a huge Prince fan but I have to agree his show was great. When he busted out the Foo Fighters I almost fell out of my chair. I think U2 was a bit higher on the list for me. Very moving performance. I liked Macca quite a bit too.
  12. He is a good guitar player although you would not really know it from most of his music. That constipated thing he does while he sings is also very distracting.
  13. Yep. Although Lammy has my curiosity up about that Coke Zero which I Have never tried. Tomorrow I'm going to put on my Crocs for the first time and drink a big old bottle of coke Zero.
  14. May not fit the current thread but very funny. http://www.theonion.com/content/node/92328 "I'll buy anything that's shiny and comes from apple".
  15. Oops, Words and music by Jeff Tweedy and Jay Bennett. Subtle but important. Sorry !
  16. Too bad there was no audio. You would have heard nasty chewing noises followed by a loud voice shouting "Clear"...
  17. Now that's a good one, that may be the one for me. Hate that song.
  18. It's no more monotonous than something like "Kidsmoke". Plus it has really good lyrics.
  19. I can't believe Havana 3 AM has not been listed. And there has to be a band somewhere called the 4 skins.
  20. I think it might just be there interpretation but I have not tried it with the album yet. It's really just 2 measures of the intro (capo on 1st fret) and 2 interpretations of a few riffs. Let me save you the trouble: E7, A7, B7, A Then there's an F# on occasion. It does say Words and Music by Jay Bennett so Jay did not get ignored.
  21. Have to admit I'm a little shocked about the lack of love for "Freedom". I know many people stated they liked it but I just thought it was considered an obvious classic by all Neil fans. That will teach me to jump to conclusions. Great to hear the other opinions. Makes me want to run out and listen to Weld.
