No, they are pretty crap. My dream is to have a good system. Maybe it's the reverb I like or something. You definitely don't get the nuance like with headphones. But then again, no kids or wife to interrupt.

The only thing I find competes with headphones is to sit in my car in some remote place and crank the radio nice and loud, lean back and close my eyes. Good way to preview a new album. That was my approach for the new Animal Collective. One of my favorite musical memories is sitting in my car on a snowy night watching a train go buy and listening to the first Robbie Robertson album. I think that's partly why I like that album so much.

I was also happy to hear they watched it. Unfortunately I have not done my job because she said it was "Boring". I proceeded to tell her why she would look back someday and be glad she saw it, the importance of it, etc... Not sure what I did wrong, heck I was one of the Obama delegates for my county!

I like the point about it being happy music. I think the happy melodies along with the harmonies, the high vocals, and the odd song structures is what make me think of "Smile" type Brian Wilson. Interesting they don't see the comparison, looking forward to checking out that interview link. It was also somewhat similar (to me) as the Dungen album from last year (or the year before) which I would recommend if you have not heard it. I think it was "Ta det lungt".

Just started listening to this. I'm amazed at the Beach boys comparisons I read because that is actually the first thing I thought of (before I even read it). Sounds like what Brian Wilson would do if he had been born 40 years later. I really like it but 9.7 at pitchfork is silly. I don't know if I have a bad copy because it's so painfully reverby and noisy I can barely hear the vocals. Sounds like an album that will grow on me. Some of it was down right transcendent.

Good stuff, really! I have yet to write a song although I think about trying. I'm kind of afraid of what will come out. I always assumed you either have it or you don't but I have heard you can get better at writing songs the more you do it. Was this done on a home studio?
