I read that one a long time ago and it kind of stuck with me. Basically what I got out of it is to: Write your storyGo through and delete all your adjectivesGo through again and delete the ones you missed the first time throughRepeat about 30 times. His description of the constant re-reading and re-editing of your own work made me realize there is a down side to just about every job no matter how great it sounds.

The Jayhawks (including Louris, Olson, and related)

Even this one? -
I agree, but on the plus side there is always the chance they will get the guy who is not afraid to tell them when something sucks.

New Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit album due April 12

Although I do like the opening lyrics: There's one thing I can't stand it's this bar and this cover band trying to fake their way through Castles made of sand But yes, some of the other lyrics are a bit wince inducing. The standout track so far for me is probably Go it Alone. -
+1 on Robert Pollard. I don't want slow swampy atmospherics, I want them to rawk!

That's actually the first player I thought of when I read it.

Delta Spirit is on Carson Daly tonight, with Lemmy (although I assume they are not teaming up). Not sure if this is a re-run or not.

New Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit album due April 12

I got through it almost 2 times this morning on my commute since it's snowing like hell and traffic was brutal. I'm liking it quite a bit. Didn't get to really dig into lyrics as I was focusing on not sliding off the road. I like how he can change things up from song to song, a mishmash of country, Soul, Blues, Rock. And that voice can make almost anything sound good. Probably not as good as the last one but certainly a good record. -
Nice assist but this statement is just ridiculous:

That's a fun team and could give fits to any other team in the playoff. Noah seems to have made a huge leap in his play this year. And how tough is Derrik Rose? I would certainly root for them to go deep in the playoffs.

I think you might be right.

I wish I had the guts. I know nothing about the industry and make too much in my current job but a body can dream can't they? The grass is always greener I'm sure but it sure sounds more interesting than what I do.

Now you need to get the puzzle masters working some stuff into the puzzles. Like "Jeff told everybody that when he stubbed his toe on the T.V. stand he was"...."Kicking Television". I'm sure they are much more creative and can do better but you get the drift.

This was my most eagerly anticipated release this year, now I'm a little nervous that it may not live up to my personal hype. But I actually liked the the 2nd album better than the first so who knows. I think Jason's solo work stands up just fine to the work he did with the truckers. Can't wait to see if I can find this tonight. -
Interesting idea. I do kind of want an all in 1 unit that I could bring to gigs but would not rule out a used or vintage set up. I have been checking out pictures of keyboardists I like to see what they use (like Supergrass, Band of Horses, etc...) but it seems to be such a hodge podge it just gets me more confused.

I thought everything up through Fair Warning was great.

So I watched Tyler on American Idol last night and I have to say, he is pretty damn good on that show. He comes across as very likeable. Maybe I had low expectations.

I would still consider Sandanista! great. But Cut the Crap wrecks it for the Clash.

Yep, just say no to solid state amps.
