Just saw that. I remember hearing he was not doing well last year. The guy wrote some great tunes. RIP.

Anyone know anything about stamp collecting?
Moss replied to PopTodd's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I bet if the dude was upside down on the stamp, you would really have something there. That's about all I have gleaned about stamp collecting through the years. Sorry to interrupt, carry on. -
I am seriously considering buying a Bruno Underground 30 amplifier but it's about $2000 more than I have ever spent on an amp. Plus I have never been willing to buy an amp without at least playing throught it. Unfortunately it's tough to find a dealer for most of these amps anywhere nearby. I currently play through a Fender Deville which I have always been pretty happy with but the tone search always continues. I really want a single channel class A type amp. Does anybody own a higher end boutique type amp? Are they really worth it? Thoughts on Sommatone vs. Bruno vs. Bludotone vs. Ge

Just watched this. That's Montgomery Clift honey!

I have seen Tommy Castro a few times and he always puts on a good show. It leans a bit towards R&B rather than straight blues. Good singer and guitar player and usually gets the crowd dancing. I would recommend checking him out.

Tony Joe White - The Shine Really good.

That's why I decided to give it a listen. Some great lyrics, he kind of lets it all hang out. Only once through it so far so tough to say but I could see it growing on me very easily. MOJO seems to really like Midlake for some reason so that probably figured into making it their #1. I will definitely be giving it another listen.

I have played with quite a few bass players and they all seem to be in awe of him. To me, improvisation is the hardest part of playing music and he is just a monster in that realm.

Highly Praised Music Artists That Don't Do a Thing for You

Dude can play hoops in high heels then make you pancakes! -
Makes sense, he was obviously a hell of a musician before even taking up bass, but to get that good on an instrument that quickly? Boggles my mind.

I refuse to give Guns and Roses any credit for Nirvana's success.

Not sure if it was posted yet but MOJO has an interesting best of 2010 list: 1. John Grant - Queen of Denmark 2. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs 3. MGMT - Congratulations 4. Edwyn Collins - Losing Sleep 5. The Black Keys - Brothers 6. Paul Weller - Wake up the Nation 7. Midlake - The Courage of Others 8. Phosphorescent - Here's to taking it Easy 9. The Coral - Butterfly Hour 10. Doug Paisley - Constant companion

So I just read in the Phil Lesh book that he didn't even start playing Bass until he joined the Dead? How is that even remotely possible?
