I like Prince and think he is talented as hell. but I just don't think of him as one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Amazing musician but his guitar playing never seemed to be ground breaking or anything. I have never really heard any guitar players say that Prince was a big influence on them. For songwriting and overall musicianship but not for pure guitar playing.

Root of Nirvana CD, Meat Puppets, Iggy & the stooges, Flipper, Melvins, Big Black, Vaselines, etc...

I actually thought the same thing, I got nothing going on in my life. But the lady the other night told a story about having to wear a men's cup in some sport she played and I was thinking, "she totally ripped that off from bad news bears!" I'm sure it was a true story but I should be able to come up with something that easy. I find taking these tests a little humbling. Feels like I do alright when I watch the show but that online test is tough.

Aw geez...

Hey, they accomplished something no other team has been able to do...

It's clear to me they don't have nearly enough amplifiers to make a decent album.

I spent so much time learning how to play this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDM469h7880

Wow, this is the first I heard of it. Any indication of cause of death? Seems pretty young and I don't remember hearing he had drug issues or anything. The guy could flat out play, that's for sure. RIP Gary.

Yay, Stryper is back! On another note:

Why is there such disappointment over Wilco(The Album)?

This sums up my thoughts about as well as anything. -
I love Elliot Easton's guitar playing. This sounds like it could be really good. Hopefully the rest of the stuff is along the same lines. I have no problem with the Cars sounding like the Cars.

Beavis and butthead Not sure how it's going to work since there are no music video on mtv anymore. Top criticisms from the show (per pitchfork) "Uh oh...I think this is college music" (during the Flaming Lips' "She Don't Use Jelly")"Is That Dave Mustaine?" (It was Tori Amos)"Check it out, he looks like the cowardly Lion" (on Metallica's James Hetfield)"Someone tell that fat roadie to get off the stage" (during Accept's "Balls to the Wall")"Um, is this football?" (trying to figure what they're watching during the opening chords to 2 Unlimited's "Get Ready for This")"If you play this stuf

You are right, I was somewhat joking. But right now he seems to be able to do anything in the paint he wants. And his mechanics for shooting don't look that bad. I think that part of his game will develop just fine. In a few years when those shots start dropping he is going to be scary good.

Not disputing that at all, just pointing out the technical difference between the two. Yngwie Malmsteen can probably play anything but his music sucks so it doesn't matter. But I love Nels and I am not comparing him to Yngwie.
-
He doesn't need to be able to shoot right now, that's for his later years when he has slowed down and lost some hops. Blake is not as "aesthetically pleasing" to watch as a Ray Allen but he is fun to watch.

I honestly don't think Jay would have been able to do either of those solos at all.

I wonder what the final net will be. I thought I heard they were losing money early on in the tour due to the high costs of hauling and setting up the 360 stage.

Just listened to this one yesterday. Some really good stuff on here.

Got $6000 for a Jackson Browne signature model? JB signature model

You did the right thing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_BZUs4QEJc This is great. Band of Horses is doing something called the "dujor of the day", a different cover song every show of the tour. This one is Dirty work by Steely Dan. Sounds great.

I knew I would screw that up. I'm no writer. My understanding of the parts of a sentence all came from Schoolhouse rock.

I just assumed Jack White lost interest a long time ago with all the side projects he is doing so this did not surprise me. They had a good run.
