It did as of the last time Wilco played there, a couple of years ago. The Val Air just flat-out rules, in all ways. A very cool place, great atmosphere for a show. Wish I could have been there for this one, too.

We had one of those, with two rows of about 20 buttons in each row. Each channel had its own button, so to surf, you had to press each button in the row, then go down to the next row.

Just another quick update. We had originally said the end of this week would be the cut-off for contributions, but if anyone thinks that they need a bit more time to get their donation in order, please feel free to PM me and we can extend that. We're now at $1200+ and I think we can get it to $2000 by the end of the week. Again, thanks very much to all who've contributed.

I watched that video a gazillion times in the 80s. I've always loved that that's your name! "Captain Carl... did you wash your hands?" "Nooo!!!"

I hate to even enter into this aspect of this conversation, but: I think currently, e-mail exchanges between interviewer/interviewee are also referred to "conversations". Which tends to put things in a half-way space between the subject writing the piece himself, and just speaking extemporaneously. I think that's a great summation about how I feel about the use of meds, too.

Jeff's wife has a login here, and posts every once in a while about special shows, etc. I believe Jeff posted once, under her username, during a highly ridiculous discussion of whether or not his lyrics were plagiarized from some poet. If I recall correctly, it turned out that the original poster was a troll who had actually invented the poet for the sake of stirring up shit.
