  1. i ate beef heart a couple of times this year. delicious. no van vliet jokes, please.
  2. thanks all. is this the guy you are referring to? i think this was during Pig Destroyer's set.
  3. yeah, i was glad to have finally nailed that shot. i was pretty far back, to the right of the soundboard, but a 1.4 teleconverter and holding the camera up over my head worked out ok.
  4. not necessarily the best performances of the over 300 that i saw, but some of my favorite images of the year. i think this board only allows for 4 embedded photos, so if you wanna see more, there's always more: http://photos.tinnitus-photography.com/bestof2013 Ethan Miller, Comets On Fire Rob Zombie Glenn Kotche, Wilco Alison Mosshart, The Kills
  5. I'm sure that's true for some people, but is way too broad of a statement. actually, what others has he ruined for you?
  6. there is a fantastic taqueria near Brighton Music Hall that serves a delicious tongue burrito. http://www.yelp.com/biz/taqueria-el-carrizal-allston also, if you are going to a show at Royale or The Wilbur, pre-game here and order the beef tendon pho; it's quite delicious. http://www.yelp.com/biz/xinh-xinh-boston
  7. is cooking a peanut-free christmas meal particularly difficult?
  8. i think KISS' greatest achievement was the astounding level of success they achieved despite most critics and media either passively ignoring or actively hating them.
  9. wrote some great songs. turned into a sideshow. had a great band, too. Melvins dug him so much they covered not one but two of his songs (Halo Of Flies; Ballad of Dwight Frye)
  10. maybe a dumb question, but can't you just ignore certain posts in a topic? and regarding stopping this, why is the political thread a sacred cow?
  11. to be fair to Crow, he specified 'teenage years'
  12. agreed that Tim and Pleased To Meet Me sounds really dated/like ass, but the production on Let It Be is spot on.
  13. there's no doubt the guy is filled with opinions. what i like about him is that he's constantly on the move, and always looking to learn. if you get a chance to see him do spoken word, i would recommend it. great storyteller. i did a phone interview w/ him a few years back that was pretty cool. http://www.prefixmag.com/features/henry-rollins/interview-with-henry-rollins/22578/
  14. hilarity ensues. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/henry-rollins-does-not-enjoy-the-music-we-cover-in-rolling-stone-20131219
  15. that's ok. not everyone's cut out to be a licorice fan.
  16. i dunno, I'll ask Dex next time i see him. part of it was likely due to Minneapolis having a pretty vibrant scene that fed off each other (Husker, Soul Asylum, etc). they also came after The Replacements, one has a stupid name (DRR), and neither wrote a song even remotely as good as "Unsatisfied" or "Left Of The Dial." that's where the great racks go to die. the ones that want a bit of rejuvenation head to LA.
