  1. the lodging options are the weakest part of the festival imo, but you can't fault the festival for booking the entire holiday inn if they need it. the first year a friend of mine was one of the artists (Sir Richard Bishop) and he ended up having to stay somewhere in Bennington.
  2. it was incredible. so so so awesome. walking backstage down a hallway and having Johnny Marr and Kim Gordon pass me was a bit surreal. then i got to sing during "Don't" when Kim dropped the mic down to me for a bit (see 6:20 into the vid)
  3. Ty Segall played w/ Mike in Sic Alps in 2011 but i would love to see a set from him.
  4. one could make a semi-convincing argument that Ty Segall (Slaughterhouse, the record w/ White Fence, Twins) or Guided By Voices (Let's Go Eat The Factory; Class Clown Spots a UFO; The Bears For Lunch) could singlehandedly take top 3 honors this year.
  5. yeah the Lumineers are better than Neil Young/Crazy Horse. that makes sense. Shakes #2? none of these fuckers go see the right bands.
  6. i think i'm gonna go. Al Cisneros is gonna be one of the guests and they just announced Dale Crover too. awesome. half of Shrinebuilder playing w/ Dino Jr! Bring your ear plugs.
  7. 7:15 to 7:45 Everest 8:00 to 8:45 Patti Smith 9:00 to 11:00 Neil Young Everest opened on the tour w/ Wilco.
  8. well it's a soundboard shoot, and the rental place was out of 400mm lenses, so don't expect too much. still will be fun, but i'm not gonna be able to see more than the 3 songs of Patti's set even though I have a ticket (us camera people are herded into and out of the area like cattle).
  9. my friends and i were chemically altered when that came on, and i think almost all of us died from laughter.
  10. i'll be there as well, on the floor. hoping to hear about a photo pass sometime today. Neil's always approved passes about an hour or two before doors open. so, fingers crossed. edit - and, i'm good to go.
  11. He is way harsher than my opinion but makes some extremely valid points. I do recall the footage shown during "The Rock" as being a big WTF.
  12. looks like Pete still uses the numbering system, but it's not as obvious.
  13. also, Skunk Baxter (Doobies, Steely Dan, etc) Jeffrey Allen "Jeff Skunk" Baxter (born December 13, 1948 in Washington, D.C.) is an American guitarist, known for his stints in the rock bands Steely Danand The Doobie Brothers during the 1970s. More recently, he has been working as a defense consultant and chairs a Congressional Advisory Board on missile defense.
