  1. Icehouse needs to get bounced from the options...
  2. of that list, i chose The Church. but there's only one NZ choice there....and it's not the right band.
  3. i'll be shooting, so if you need cdr artwork, let me know
  4. The Joy Formidable makes it a great bill...SD is pretty damned boring to me.
  5. my top YLT records: New Wave Hot Dogs/President YLT (my first exposure) Painful Electr-o-Pura
  6. heard "Box Full Of Letters" on the radio when buying beer today.
  7. last year they did two different covers in honor of Alex Chilton (Thank You Friends; In The Street). i guess you could also include the Nick Lowe cover, even though it also ended up as a b side?
  8. The Smiths - $525 http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Super-Deluxe-Collectors-Box/dp/B005DKLPOM
  9. i'm kind of partial to Liberty Belle & the Black Diamond Express myself but the ones you mention are way up there as well.
  10. Dr and Crow Daddy, you do realize who the author is, don't you? or maybe you have none of his LPs in your collection of 30+
  11. well i saw them before that last LP came out...maybe they got super-amazing in the meantime. if someone is a 'ditch trilogy' fan, then i can't see them not like Kurt Vile's stuff.
  12. a lot of people have been listing that Girls record...i saw 'em twice last year and was thoroughly non-plussed...am i missing out?
  13. and the Verlaines cover by Barbara Manning ("Joed Out") is pretty sublime, too.
  14. definitely a good record (lose the Goo Goo Dolls song).
  15. top 5: Grails - Deep Politics Mogwai - Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will Kurt Vile - Smoke Ring For My Halo Slug Guts - Howlin' Gang Various - Not The Spaces You Know But Between Them
  16. of the above ones i've heard, i would put Wilco, Vile, Malkmus, Grouper and Wye Oak on my list. The Callahan was solid, but not nearly as good as the last record. i need to hear the BPB more...one listen doesn't cut it. top 15 list as of now...i still need to listen to new records from Boston Spaceships, The Bevis Frond and Glenn Jones more. Grails - Deep Politics Mogwai - Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will Kurt Vile - Smoke Ring For My Halo Slug Guts - Howlin' Gang Various - Not The Spaces You Know But Between Them Lifeguards - Waving At the Astronauts Wild Flag - Wild Flag Stephen Ma
  17. that, to me, is more perverse than just having 30 LPs...
  18. but really, how can a genre like jazz be represented by A Love Supreme (admittedly one of the greatest records from that genre). just that alone makes the exercise totally pointless.
  19. it is rather silly, but i kinda see his point a bit...railing against the ubiquity of everything in this day and age. but i could never do it.
  20. are you talking about Aerosmith songs in particular? i took your comment in general.
