  1. While I didn't hear this, I feel like this is the most appropriate thread for this little find: EATER BOSTON: As a woodworker and a musician, do you find yourself paying attention to things like the furniture and the music when you're walking into a restaurant, or is it all about the food for you? Nick Offerman: I pay a great deal of attention, especially when an establishment is playing music that's in my wheelhouse. Makes me just immediately want to embrace the proprietor. When you walk into a place ready for a savory meal, and they're playing Tom Waits or Neil Young or Wilco or Bob Dyla
  2. From Jeff Garlin's "AMA" on Reddit: I loved seeing your live shows with Guster, do you think that you would ever try doing that again? What did you like most about touring with a band rather than on a comedy tour [–]jeffgarlin[S] 18 points 14 hours ago oh i really want to, and we've even talked about it! As a matter of fact, I will be doing some shows with Jeff Tweedy in December. What i liked most was the companionship - going on the road as a comedian is awfully lonely. A few months ago Guster did an acoustic tour with him. Garlin did a brief stand up set & then came out
  3. Thanks, that's the one. I'm really late to the YLT party.
  4. That's a lot of Wilco shows! I can't stop thinking about Yo La Tengo's set. Do you know the name of the last song they played? it was the longest "jam" of their set. I thought it was totally captivating. Also, I'm glad that they got an hour. Turned out to be more of a co-headlining show than I expected.
  5. Sorry-- I'm not neighbors with a Chris. I was about 5 rows back in the middle section. I recorded a song from both B&S's set, and YLT's. Here's Belle & Sebastian's Another Sunny Day:
  6. Yo La Tengo & Belle & Sebastian
  7. I believe Ticketmaster/Live Nation have a transfer option. They basically void the tickets you have and generate PDFs. I might be interested in taking them off your hands-- I didn't buy them during the on sale as I couldn't justify the cost. I'm sort of kicking myself now.
  8. Love this Roadcase recording. I forgot how good Forget the Flowers was with Julian Lage. Why can't Nels do that?
  9. Jad, Robert, and their executive producer Ellen did an AMA (ask me anything) on Reddit last week, and Ellen just got around to answering my question: Me: How did you get involved with Wilco & The Solid Sound Festival? I'm looking forward to seeing you guys this weekend! Ellen: We'd done a show with Wilco's drummer, Glenn Kotche, a few years ago and he put us on a list of folks he'd like to have invited. I guess the band gets together and looks over their collective list and decides who to invite up. It was a terrific experience - what a line up we got to be a part of! - and now we're goi
  10. I disagree. Unfortunately, I think that the nature of allowing open access to Joe's field for the entire day allows people to claim a spot. I don't particularly like this method, and think that the line is a fairer way (then again, the sprint to the front can be dangerous which is probably why they opted for this approach). Those who shove their way to the front irritate me way more than the whole chair/ blanket approach.
  11. Wilco's Saturday night set: http://wilcoworld.net/#!/listen-to-wilcos-saturday-night-solid-sound-set/
  12. While I've chimed in sporadically among all of the SSF threads, I'll share just a few of my thoughts: I much prefer waiting in line and having the mad dash to the front VS. setting up a chairFriday night's set was enjoyable, but it didn't do for me what it seemed to have done for most. I'll take a "greatest hits" set VS that covers set more often than not. The novelty of watching Wilco do cover songs wore off about an hour in.I think I finally like Neko Case. Good tunes & stage banter. While I don't think Saturday's Wilco set ranks among one of my favorites, I thought the setlist was pretty
  13. I caught their unplugged performance in the museum, which was pretty strange. They had a nice sound, and were certainly acting the part. I kind of found their shtick to be a bit of a distraction, TBH.
  14. Can anyone describe the Radiolab set? I was sad to miss it. I listen to that podcast about as often as I listen to Wilco.
  15. I believe they had professional cameras at the benefit show last summer. I don't recall cameras like that at SSF1 or 2.
  16. I got a video of Even Better. The audio isn't perfect, but it's something! I have a few other videos from the weekend that I'll post on my youtube channel. I caught some of Jeff's banter > ITMWLY as well as At My Window Sad and Lonely, and the Dylan cover from the night previous.
  17. I think that's an important distinction. I had a good time, but was expecting 50% covers, and 50% b-sides/deep cuts. Hopefully tonight we get more than a "best of" setlist.
  18. I recorded Jeff's "Breakfast with Wilco" radio interview. Any interest?

  20. I remember reading this in a Native American Lit course and really enjoying it. My favorite from that semester was Louise Erdrich's Love Medicine. It's a bit different, but worth checking out, if you haven't already.
