  1. EDIT: These are now sold. Jeff Tweedy Book Tour : LET'S GO (SO WE CAN GET BACK) Sec.: BALC, Row F, Seat 1-3 Wednesday, November 14, 2018 7:30 PM EST Boston, MA -- The Wilbur Face value: $113.00 (for both tickets)
  2. Anyone know if Boston includes meet & greet? Seems like it doesn’t, but it’s not really clear about what the difference between VIP and regular tickets is.
  3. Jeff did a little live session for a local MT radio station, Trail 1033, from The Wilma. He plays Some Birds (3:18), Having Been is No Way To Be (7:14), and You & I (12:14). https://www.facebook.com/TheTrail1033/videos/159860351608786/UzpfSTgyOTA0MTA0MjA6MTAxNTY3MzMzMzY0NzU0MjE/
  4. Loved the George Saunders piece. Psyched for this release! Curious that it's billed as Jeff Tweedy and not Tweedy (one assumes that's Spencer on drums)... Will be curious to see if the Tweedy band are in tow when Jeff (hopefully) tours this album. I wonder if all of the new songs we've heard so far are on the album. I've bolded tracks I believe that he's played live. 1. Bombs Above 2. Some Birds 3. Don't Forget 4. How Hard It Is For A Desert To Die 5. Let's Go Rain 6. Far From Away 7. I Know What It's Like 8. Having Been is No Way To Be 9. The Red Brick 10. Warm (When The Sun Has Died) 11.
  5. Well, I’m creating this thread only for the sake of continuity. I didn’t see our resident setlist reporter in the audience last night and so I’m going to take a stab at this. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a writing utensil last night and so this is all from memory. The order of the songs is certainly incorrect, but I believe that I included most, if not all, of what was played. I will update this post if someone has the correct set list or once HQ posts it. Some show notes to follow later... New Song - Bombs above IATTBYH New Madrid New Song - New Wave Theater Passenger Side Hummingbird New
  6. MountainGerbil, that's some excellent advice. My father was really into Hi-Fi when I was growing up and so he put together a little stereo for me that I still use ~20 yrs later, with minor changes. I have just two comments: 1. While my stereo isn't airplay/bluetooth compatible, if you do decide to go vintage, you can always connect a device to your integrated amp via a 3.5mm cable. I have a very old NAD integrated amp, and so one of my inputs is the 3.5mm cord which I plug into my iPhone or old iPod. 2. This I'm a little less sure of, but I believe some turntables have a phono stage buil

  8. Congrats - great seats! Hope to get lucky tmrw and get seated nearby
  9. Did you get floor seats, if you don't mind my asking? I saw one pair pop up in row B and it was gone by the time I clicked it. Everything else was in the balcony.
  10. agreed - and it's at the shittiest venue in the city. i too wasn't crazy about the single, but am in love with the album. halls of sarah and sleep all summer are my favorites for now.
  11. I listened to the version on YouTube and tried my best at transcribing: I was naïve My shoes were untied In heaven everything is just fine but the phones are dead and so is the light and so are you and honey so am I but the earth still turns for the unconcerned Days pass below like train windows I was a sapling tree The birds look like me And so I beg my nerves to kick me something new And time to time when I watch you sleep Well I wonder how much freedom we can dream And I'm sorry when you wake up to me I just got tired Shining steady like a spider webs and empty stage Now people say “Wha
  12. That's an interesting take. As the guy who Jeff questioned, I wasn't at all offended and didn't interpret the interaction the way that you did. The context was that some reviewer said that "Let's Go Rain" is a "throwaway" song. Jeff said something about how it's unfair that he's judged so critically at his job, and then he proceeded to ask me, a random guy, what I do for a living. I responded with some hesitation that I work in university administration. Jeff said that my work isn't judged the same that his is (that's true, of course), and that there's no Bob Dylan of University Administration
  13. Fixed! Thank you both. And I agree that “New Wave Theatre” was a highlight. Pretty intense lyrics. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the new ones— it’s tough for me to imagine them as Wilco songs. Anyway, had a nice time yesterday and even had Jeff ask me about my profession from the stage (I was so surprised he was talking to me that I asked “who, me?” three times before answering).

  18. Yep— it’s me! I will, of course, butcher this, but some bits from banter corner: Jeff remarked that when he’s playing a song that he’s played a thousand times sometimes his mind wanders. At a Wilco show, he’ll think about how among the thousands of fans he’d probably only be friends with roughly 2% of them. Applying that to the tiny Largo crowd, Jeff figured that he would only like 1 or 2 of us in attendance. After asking for a request from the audience, Jeff said that every Wilco fan has a different favorite song because he’s never written a hit. He made some really lovely comments ab
  19. Nice sitting with you last night! I'm currently flying home and feeling great about my brief visit to LA. Night 2 at Largo was about as good of a show as I could have hoped for. Musical highlights for me included Born Alone, which is a song that I much prefer in its solo form, and BD's 49th Beard (Susie's request). Either Way was a pleasant surprise and I certainly didn't expect to hear Blasting Fonda (the only audience request that Jeff honored). Sarah Silverman as a surprise opener felt like a uniquely LA experience. My girlfriend was particularly thrilled as she had spent some time in l
  20. I had a great first visit to Largo last night, lumpy, tiny seats and all. There really is a magic to that space. As often is the case, I don’t have much to add to Paul’s very thorough recap. (Thanks for it, by the way! Hope to run into you this evening.) I will add a few stray observations: Jeff made a very earnest comment about why he enjoys playing solo, which was something about how it requires that he look people in the eye and present them with a song in its simplest form. It was an endearing comment which I’m not remembering exactly. I think that this was my first time seeing Jef
