  1. Perhaps they're waiting to play those intimate indoor venues...
  2. I've never loved Nels more than after reading this: "Jeff stopped asking me for setlist ideas like 10 years ago because I would say, like, 'Let’s open with ‘Radio Cure’.”
  3. I'm appreciating the emphasis on lyrics. I cannot wait to hear this album!
  4. Realllllllly hoping that by September they'll be playing some new stuff.
  5. Yep. Also a super talented artist. Designed the Heady Topper logo!
  6. Saw Josh Ritter play solo last night. You'd be hard pressed to find a performer having a better time on stage than Josh. The guy is all smiles. Also Dan Blakeslee opened, which was fun.
  7. Sounds like you saw two great solo shows. Thanks, as always, for the review. I missed the stream & am hopeful that some videos surface on YouTube.
  8. Ryan Adams Performs "Oh My Sweet Carolina" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgP1J34D8LA
  9. Joyously Negative ™
  10. I saw Bela Fleck & Chris Thile tonight. Those guys are pretty good.
  11. "Please Note: At this time, the first wave of eligible events has been closed. Please check back periodically for updates."
  12. Not very many shows for us MA folks. A couple at Great Woods. Tried for Modest Mouse and kept getting this error: There are problems with your submission We're sorry we were not able to redeem your voucher for the following reasons. Please refer to your voucher's conditions of use for further details. Sorry, the voucher code you entered cannot be used to purchase these tickets. Please double check your code and try again. I guess I won't be able to use my 18 pairs of vouchers. Shocker!
  13. I often flip back and forth on which solo album I like most -- Full Moon Fever or Wildflowers. There's just something about the warmth of Wildflowers (probably R. Rubin's contribution) that sways me. I know Petty has said some disparaging things about She's the One, which contains cuts from the Wildflowers sessions, but Petty's output from like 1994-99 (Wildflowers, She's the One, and Echo) is, IMHO, among his best. FWIW, I saw Mudcrutch a few days ago, and while he's looking pretty old, and didn't move all that much on the stage, his voice sounded great.
  14. Guster (my 20th time seeing them)! Hoping for no rain.
  15. Looks like you can buy a single day pass for "pay what you want." After creating an account it seems that the minimum is $9.99.
  16. Got very lucky for both Seattle shows. Just set some airfare alerts. Oof.
  17. They did it both nights when they were in Boston in January...
  18. Thoughts on whether or not the PNW and West Coast shows will be "standard" Star Wars shows with the band opening the show by playing the album in its entirety?
  19. I'm currently at O'Hare waiting to fly back to Boston after a great visit to Chicago and two memorable shows. We were lucky enough to be numbers 28 & 29 on Friday which was a total thrill. Jeff honored my first pick (No More Poetry) and my girlfriend's backup (Radio King; her first pick was You're Not Alone which ended up getting played the following evening). On night two we were a few people short, though we did get our question answered (What is Jeff's most memorable concert going experience). There's not much that I can contribute that hasn't been said above. All I can say is that t
  20. Ha, thanks! I googled before I made my post, and my search led me to that thread. Not much useful info there - the VC crowd is a knowledgable bunch, thought I'd ask here first.
  21. The new deluxe Heartbreaker LP box set is a thing of beauty. I had no idea that Pat played on some of these songs! Anyone know more about Pat's history with DRA?
  22. This record release is the antithesis of Wilco's Star Wars release. Could Radiohead be more self indulgent? Oh, and the songs are fine. I thought Daydreaming was pretty boring and Burn the Witch was kinda catchy.
