That is interesting and weird. I never thought of the Stones as much of a studio band.

Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival

I am guessing since Eric sold all of his guitars, he just uses stock Fenders now? From what I have seen in various videos, the ones he plays look new. I've been under that bridge in a ship a time or three. -

He also played one (an ES-335) of those towards the end of Cream. -
Michelle Shocked - born again, homophobic bigot?

I would think her tirade had to do with the demons in her head, and her holy roller belief system. Plus - everything gets recorded and shared these days. -
Here's one of them: Greatest Guitarists of All Time. It's nice to see Carlos on your list. A joke now, but at one time he was the man.

Max Johnston is Michelle's brother. -

That is how it is for me. Probably due to the fact that is what I started out listening to those dudes way back in the last century. Plus - Robert Johnson records are too dam scary to listen to in the dark. -

You forgot Jeff Beck and Peter Green (and a whole bunch of others that other people can name). I suppose what I was thinking of was the trinity - Page/Beck/Clapton. -

I don't know about all that, but Eric was Jimi's hero. It's one of the reasons he came to England. Chas told him him knew Eric, and could arrange a meeting/jam. -

I think that is a good way to put it - laid back and mellow. I think that is called "The Tulsa Sound". I was going to say I don't own any Clapton solo albums, but I actually have a copy of Backless that someone gave me years ago. Speaking of sound, one of things I don't like about the Layla album is that some of the songs were "sped up". -

And he used a Telecaster (sometimes a Les Paul) during the Blind Faith era. -

I don't think it's about guitars. I think he just changed with the times. And he probably had a record company on his back to produce hit records at various points along the way. I just listen to the stuff of his I like and go with that. -

A couple of other great albums - Derek and the Dominos Live At The Fillmore East album, and The Rainbow Concert album. -
Steve Earle was there the other night also.

I have the following albums, but I don't think I have listened to any of them in a long time. That's about it for me.
-
I guess he does not go for people putting it up there. I just checked and noticed they are going to rebroadcast the show on March the 20th.
-
I have never seen any of the Weir Here shows. Does he always do that? I was thinking he was doing a Johnny Carson deal.

The only cds my public library has are classical music cds. Somewhere in Time was the last one I bought. I've heard most of the albums since then.
-
A public library that has Iron Maiden cds? Mr. Burr would have got a laugh out of that - I bet.
-
Maybe that was it. They talked about the box of tapes they recently acquired. Parish named the roadie that took them. I can't recall the name. Looks like this guy is putting it up on Youtube: Weir Here with Phil Lesh, Parish, and David 2013.
-
I saw up until they did Operator. I noticed David said something about a Pigpen cd coming out "next month".
-
I just read that Clive Burr passed away. That's a shame. He was a great drummer.
-
That setlist you posted seems better to me. I mean - it's interesting that they did a Hendrix song, but I am not all that into them doing such a thing. About the only Hendrix covers I can go for are the ones SRV did. I suppose I don't think of those antique blues songs as covers - even though they are covers.
