  1. Ah, hope they come to NYC! Saw them here last year do Brian Eno's Music for Airports, it was fantastic. Would love to see them with Glenn.
  2. I know Cymbals Eat guitars opened some europe dates last year
  3. So my roomate just showed me a leaked schedule of the Rally tomorrow, and according to the schedule (which seems very official), Jeff and Mavis are slated to perform! Really glad i decided to go http://gawker.com/5676363/everything-you-need-to-know-about-tomorrows-stewart-and-colbert-rally-+--gallery/gallery/33
  4. Bowery ballroom is general admission, standing room only (except for a few tables in the balcony), around 500 capacity. Not sure why its 21+, very rare for bowery shows to be anything other than 18+
  5. That letterman interview was boss. The fact that he was a method actor in the public eye for a year and a half is absolutely incredible.
  6. Anyone going to the NYC show? Im totally there
  7. Whiskey is my spirit of choice. If im looking for something strong or if i expect to be sharing with more than a few people, I go for George Dickel. Mainly because its cheap, but i also got used to Dickel as its the choice whiskey down in Manchester, TN where ive spent quite some time. However, i found my new favorite whiskey about a month ago, Michter's US 1. Great for Manhattans, an Old Fashioned, or even neat it is absolutely delicious.
  8. Wow, great setlist considering how it wasn't terribly long. Can't remember the last time they didn't play IATTBYH, or the last time they played either Poor Places and/or Reservations without playing spiders.
  9. I feel like there isn't enough Greetings or Wild and the Innocent material laying around to do a big release like for BTR or Darkness, but they could probably do a combined box set with Greetings and Wild and Innocent
  10. At solid sound, only one guitar had the M1, and it was the one that was making the buzzing noise when he tried to play Remember the Mountain Bed (if i remember correctly), so it never even got used.
  11. Sufjan Stevens Radiohead Bruce Springsteen
  12. Happy (kinda-belated TECHNICALLY) birthday Jeff! Hope you had a good one, and in your own words (impersonating Mavis Staples), "Let's do it again"
  13. I had such a blast at the festival this weekend. It was my 6th Wilco show, and they were just as impressive as they always were. It was also my second time seeing the Nels Cline singers, and they are truly unreal. A real testament to how good Nels is no matter who he plays with. The real highlights for me were the firsts. Unfortunately, i couldn't catch Pronto or On Fillmore, but the Autumn Defense really impressed me. I didn't really know what to expect, but they are really tight and have some really good tunes. The Tweedy solo show was also incredible. Didn't expect that many special guest
  14. Ya, hunter auditorium is pretty full right now waiting for the autumn defense. All seats full, and standing room is going quick. heard Jeff soundchecking at joes field before, definitely played in a future age, and I think sky blue sky
  15. This basically. I can't think of anyone i appreciate more than Radiohead and Wilco, other than Springsteen, so hearing Phil talk about the Wilco guys like that is phenomenal. Especially how he comments on Glenn's drumming, with Phil being a drummer himself
  16. i don't think he's switched completely. When i saw them in April, he only had one (maybe two) acoustics with the seymour duncan, the rest had the M1's.
  17. That might be the best rendition of Impossible Germany ive ever heard. Nels is always great, but he was absolutely demolishing that solo from beginning to end. Anyone noticed his Impossible Germany solos have been getting longer and longer? At this rate, the song will be 10 minutes long in five years. And i have absolutely no issue with that
  18. Pink Floyd - Welcome to the Machine Amanda Palmer - Please Drop Me
  19. I second both of these. I keep hearing how good High Violet is, but the National guy's voice really does bother me.
  20. Side with the seeds is probably one of Wilco's best songs of all time.
  21. Obviously, there are many stories to tell about seeing Wilco for the first time at Bonnaroo of all places, so we'll skip that one. When i was going to see Wilco the first night at the Wellmont, i found out the night before that i didn't have a car for my friend and i to get from manhattan to Montclair. I remember trolling craigslist for hours until i found a second pair of tickets the day of for $60 each so that i could take another friend who did have a car to drive us, i didn't even make him pay i was so grateful. One of the best decisions i've ever made.
  22. JAK2112

    seen that?

HAHAHAHA "I know, your not ristening, now i know, you'll be ristening" The musics pretty good, the vocals are kinda funny. The guitarist is no Nels, but he's certainly got chops in the Impossible Germany solo.
  23. Just one question out of curiosity: Does Nels do the singing heard in the background of some of the songs on Initiate, such as Divining or Zingiber?
  24. 1. Sky Blue Sky 2. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 3. A Ghost is Born 4. Summerteeth 5. Being There 6. Wilco (the album) 7. A.M.
