Some solo gems in the setlist - hell, they are all gems. Love to see Via Chicago, Be Not So Fearful, New Madrid, and Simple Twist of Fate. -

There are very few people in the world who I have a visceral, negative reaction to when I see/hear them on TV or in person, and Bobby V is one of them. The word "idiot" comes to mind when I hear him speak.

Does New Jersey Stink?
The Inside of Outside replied to The High Heat's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Most of NJ smells fine, it is just the most-often-seen-parts that smell poorly. NJ has Pine Valley GC and Baltusrol GC - two of the best golf courses in the US. Gorgeous land. Not that this helps NJ smell any better, though. -
I love Father's Day gifts....

Saw Brown play two weeks ago or so against the Portland Sea Dogs. Tall and thin dude, hits for power. Body type reminded me of Griffey, Jr. Think he had a double and a single, as well as a K. He's going to be good.

Love Planet Waves - I would go top 5 Dylan albums as well, with Blonde on Blonde, Infidels, Blood on the Tracks, and Desire up there, too. Hell, there are 5 more I want to put in his top 5. Love the live stuff too - Before the Flood and the much maligned at Budokan are favorites. Think I'll put the latter on now.

If the current Wilco were to re-record a Wilco album

ST as well. Can't imagine them doing AM or BT, and I don't think YHF and AGIB would be that much different. BT would probably be my 2nd pick. -
From Closer to the Heart to the end of the show - that is an excellent run of songs. I lost interest in the late 80s - saw them 3 times in the early/mid 80s, and they put on a great show each time. Love most of their 70s and early 80s music. I would like to see them play the entire Moving Pictures album - that is the kind of thing that can get me back to see a band I have not seen in a while.

Here is my ranking: AM BT ST YHF AGIB SBS W(TA)

So entertaining I feel guilty reading it.... -
Love this. I could do without, however, the Dubya bashing. I understand that he likely ranks in the bottom three Presidents in history, and I rejoiced on January 21, 2009. But he is way too easy a target for cheap laughs, and beating up on the guy gets us basically...nowhere.

Still smokin'. More proof that there is a god.

Great LPs with crappy openers
The Inside of Outside replied to tinnitus photography's topic in Someone Else's Song
Not a fan of "The Power of Equality" off the Red Hot Chili Pepper's Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Not sure I would call it a crappy opener, but compared to what follows, it pales. -
I feel the same way about The National. Now you have me thinking I may have to check out High Violet. Agree with My Morning Jacket. I do listen, but I'd listen more with a different singer. And Van Halen without David Lee Roth is painful to listen to. I'd put that at the top of the list. Green Day for me - like them, but might love them with a different vocal sound, at least on a number of songs.

Me too. Love to play golf. Camp. Smoke cigars. Don't collect much. Trying to purge stuff; six people in one house = not much room for any one person's stuff. Got rid of baseball cards, beer cans, and vinyl records several years ago. I do collect concert ticket stubs....

Best/Favorite Opening Tracks
The Inside of Outside replied to choo-choo-charlie's topic in Someone Else's Song
I second these. And throw in Big Star's "O My Soul" from Radio City and the title track from The Jam's All Mod Cons. -
As far as the live experience, I agree with: buzzkill and pee break. As far as the album version, it's meh.

This cracks me up! Only she is turning 40, not 20. There once was a time for this, but thankfully not at 40. Well said. Glad you got some ideas, and sounds like your niece is doing a good deed.
