  1. We'll be driving to & from both days - we only live about an hour & a half away. My in-laws are watching the girls for us on Sunday. Sounds like Wilco Me and Cold As Gasoline are coming too. You guys in?
  2. Yeah, the lineup is getting pretty good. I'm most excited for Shovels and Rope, The Milk Carton Kids and Gregory Alan Isakov so far. Mavis is the only headliner announced as of now, and if Jeff's going to appear I'm betting it'll be Sunday right before her. We're going Saturday (with the kids) & Sunday (without). Really looking forward to a fun couple of days. We should definitely all arrange some sort of meet-up at the Fort if only to say hello and put faces to names.
  3. He's edging ever closer to Newport...
  4. I never saw it as a kid. My wife and I stumbled upon it late one night some years ago. It's hilariously bad.
  5. Kolchak: The Night Stalker is on Netflix!
  6. BT went on at 8:30 & I think they probably played for 45 minutes to an hour. Could be different at your show though, so I'd follow Tim's advice.
  7. They were great, weren't they? It was my 4th time seeing them. Where were you standing? We were on the rail in front of Erik Menteer. DBT were ok. I can take them or leave them, to be honest.
  8. Weeknight shows are tough. Tomorrow's gonna be a long one.
  9. Don't skip Blitzen Trapper! They're an excellent live band.
  10. Thanks! Whether or not I'm up front will depend on what time I get there & how long the will-call line is. Should be a fun night. Blitzen Trapper are always great.
  11. DBT & Blitzen Trapper @ Toad's Place, New Haven!
  12. Wow, small world! I didn't have great seats, but it ended up being a very memorable night. I was wandering around after G'n'R's set and bumped into Slash. He commented on my Motörhead shirt (it had UK dates as I had just moved back to the US two months prior). He brought me backstage and we ended up talking music during Aerosmith's set. Really cool guy. He kept pouring us both Jack and Cokes. When I eventually got back to my seat my friends wondered how I got loaded (I was 18). I don't think they really believed me until I got my film developed a few days later.
  13. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. It'll be playing in my area as of a March 28th.
  14. By the way, RaspberryJam, are you still planning on hitting the DBT/Blitzen Trapper show on Tuesday?
  15. Oh, I know it wasn't you - he must have had a crappy seat and was wandering all through the front few rows trying to push in between people. I actually had to threaten him to make him leave. I don't recall an elderly woman - other than that one altercation I was pretty much riveted by the performance.
  16. Holy shit, I was 2nd row, right in front of Nels! I had to yell at some big drunk guy who was row hopping and stood in front of my wife. Amazing show, though.
  17. Woke up to a puking daughter, so my plans have been revised to include repeated vomit cleanup. Yay.
  18. Small shows (as in clubs): Faith No More @ The Living Room, Providence, RI. Summer of ' 89, I think. The Real Thing was just about to get huge. A very sweaty, fun show. Pearl Jam @ Club Babyhead, Providence, RI. July of '91. About 20 people in the crowd. The band was unbelievably good. Walt Mink @ TT The Bears, Boston in 2011. Reunion show for one of my favorite bands. Incredible show. The Jayhawks @ Paradise, Boston in 2011. The Wildhearts @ Mercury Lounge, NYC 2008 The Weakerthans @ UConn Student Union in 2000 The Sundays @ Crawford Hall, UCI, Los Angeles in '93. Theater sho
  19. Ok. Let's both carm down, then.
  20. Cool! I was hoping for that. Thanks for the heads-up!
